Honda City ZX V-TEC:- Put a stopwatch on this little rocket, and 0 to 60 happens in 4.5 seconds. 0 to 100 in 8.8 flat! Not bad, eh? You’ll hit 140 in third, and there are still two cogs left to play with. Top speed is 195 km/hr, which is enough to put a BIG smile on most people’s faces, and also enough to see off friends who own fancy (and EXPENSIVE) BMW 3-series chariots. Only if these Beemers are lower-end models though. DON’T, for heaven’s sake, even THINK of taking on M3s

Sir get your facts right, EXI is never 1.6 and its 32HP short of new Civic, its weight is 100KG less, but the new Civic has a much better Aero at sacrifice of high speed stability compare to old one.

Old Civic is the most stable and safe car at high speeds, along with 3-8 gen Accords among localaly available cars.

I was talking about the 1.6 eagle eye VTI variant.
I know that the EXI is having a SOHC 1.5 litre 4 cyl 16 valve Non VTEC engine producing 110hp.
The engine code is D15y3.
Where as the engine in the VTI is SOHC 1.6 litre 4 cyl 16 valve VTEC equipped engine producing 130hp.
The engine code is D16w9.
The current shape Civic is having SOHC 1.8 litre 4 cyl 16 valve VTEC engine producing around 140hp.
Engine code R18.
If there is any mistake in these facts then feel free to mention it and make any correction.

I wonder why don't the car companies who try to achieve high speeds on their sports n super cars don't use the Civic, City, Corolla etc engines. While BMW 3 series only able to get to 251 km/h and Mclaren SLR only claims 333.93 Km/h and Aston Martins with 324 Km/h. I think they need to use the MIGHTY V-tak tak tak in order to gain higher speeds. Right? :S

Your info is accurate.

Except that ratings of EXI and VTI are 110PS and 130PS, that makes close to 108HP and 127HP.

Also, I very much suspect that the R18 is 132PS instead of 140HP.

City is not stable at all on high speeds i agree wid JZ kham kha engine ko khrab krne wali baat hai .....these cars are not made for high speeds..these are economical cars... Above Steermatic picture seems Photoshoped to me .... experts would tell tht... Civic Vti eagle eye easily touches 200km no issue since its a VTEC-III and Exi goes 180km but only if it is properly maintained. so Civics are capable of doing it no big deal !!

By the way my W202 M111 never passed 190Km/hr, high octane.

2005 Exi PROSMATEC 175Km/hr.

CA4 Accord 1.6L 170km/hr.

2010 Civic 1.8L 190 km/hr.

so, if you think, City can better that, its up to you.

if a 1.3 city can do 180 then a 1.8 civic can most probably do 240, (unless there is a limiter)
