Total PARCO New Blend Excellium Fuel

was invited by Total Parco to test drive their new fuel. Excellium

Topped up 55 liters at special low price of Rs. 256 / liter from a dedicated station.
will test for 3 tanks from other TOTAL dispensers to know if there is any significant change in fuel consumption.

1st thing i noticed that the temp needle is 2 fractions higher then usual during 1st 100 kms run.

am a Shell Fuel user since very long.

Interesting thread, what car are you testing the fuel on? Also, I was wondering if you know which brand has the best diesel in Pakistan especially in Lahore?

Lean fuel mixture or low octane could be one of them or else I am not reaching a good top spot to identify the high coolant temps

sir apki gari ka temp kanta check karwa layn. what temp gauge has to do with fuel blending? experts may please share some knowledge.

sir the best answer you can get by asking from the long haul-trucks and the passenger buses which fuel brand they use.

Dear @sardarg thanks for the suggestion. I will ask from my office drivers, what is their experience. I will also ask this query of revo and fortuner pages. Since i am am more concerned with best fuel for turbo cars. The diesel used in these turbo diesels in high cetane diesel.

It couldn't be low octane because Excellium is a high octane product from Total.
Most tests comparing Shell V Power and Total Excellium on the YouTube show Shell increases power with better acceleration. On the other hand Total is more focused on fuel economy and engine and fuel system cleaning additives.

sir @salman_w if you stop by at any bus stand in lahore and look at any Bus engine & ac compartment you will see turbo chargers running in those 6 cylinder 8400 cc diesel engines. Those buses have fuel capacity of approx. 260 liters and the 2 fuel tanks are placed like aeroplane setup balancing over the front air suspension. Am sure the driver will be happy to talk to you about the fuel oil standards plus the related maintenance schedule. You will get an idea how sensitive and educated the bus fleet operators have become.

Oh I see, I thought you were talking about the toyota hiaces and local route busses. Ok will keep an eye out for the big ones. I never knew that their engines are 8400cc with a turbo. Can you mention the brand names of these busses i.e chinese new ones or any other?

every Yutong Chinese & PKDM HINO Buses has those high power engines. read the model number behind any such bus use google for specs.

@salman_w Corolla Altis am in Karachi, station I topped up from is at Shahrae Faisal they are also dispensing EXCELLIUM Diesel under pilot project.

at any fuel station check which dispenser has commercial vehicle line up, that nozzle has the near equal of 980ml per 1000 ml dispensation. commercial operators are sensitive for fuel quantity and they can ruin or promote fuel station reputation in matter of hours.

at @VCheng am very cautious about temperature gauge any abnormality like the fractional high or low movement in temperature kicks me hard.

Of course, it is an important parameter to monitor. I doubt that merely changing fuel would cause such a change all by itself, unless you go back and forth and show that it is reproducible consistently with only that change.

After Karsaz Exit it is on LEFT. I have 2 more vouchers to top up from any random stations.

Vouchers carry the vehicle number and a TOTAL PARCO Decal pasted over rear screen left bottom.

recently have done 2 full tanks in alto of Shell V power from pump opp Lucky star. The fuel average has risen from 16-16.5 to 18.5-19 despite keeping the same routes daily. the pickup has increased surprisingly well and performance is feeling better,

previously was using Total and getting filled from pump at Zainub market. the car shows hesitations and was lethargic and the fuel average stays at 16-16.5 or even lower.

The problem is with that PUMP at corner of fountain opposite Madina Mall, the measurement is 870 ml / 1000 ml. if my memory serves right it is owned by ppp guy gabol over disputed property under legal process., since 47 years. @nnabeel
