My friends based in Saidu Sharif had been inviting since long to visit swat. So I decided to visit with my wife and son in April 2019. I have visited Swat Valley only once in July 2002 so I wanted to refresh my memory of tour. I have been visiting Gilgit Baltistan since last three consecutive years so this year I already wanted to visit some other place for a change. This tour was more of a union with friends rather than exploring so there were less photographs taken. Travel dates for the tour were decided as 16.04.2019 till 21.04.2019, details are as follows:
Day1: Lahore to Mardan 16.04.2019
We started journey via motorway at 6 PM after attending office, the weather was very bad. It was raining all the way till Mardan. At some places there were heavy rain and hail storm while in some places it was light rain. We reached Mardan at 12:30 PM and went to rest house and had dinner and stayed there.
Day 2: Mardan to Fizza gut 17.04.2019
We left Mardan at 11 AM weather was rainy, we went through Malakand and Chakdara then reached Saidu Sharif at 3 PM at my friend's house. There we had lunch, afterwards my friend took us to Marghzar palace. The road towards palace was very good. The marghzar area was very green and peaceful, Due to rain we reached the palace after sunset and there we could not explore much due to darkness. From Marghzar we went to our hotel at Fizza gut, had dinner and stayed overnight.
Day 3: Fizza Gut to Behrain 18.04.2019
In morning we were pleased to see that weather was clear, My friend came on his car and we followed him on our own car towards Shangla top and his village Alpuri. At Alpuri we had lunch at river side. Then we left our friend and went to behrain for dinner and night stay. Road from Khauza Khela to Madyan was under construction and in bad shape rest of the road was good.
Day 4: Bharian to Kalam round trip 19.04.2019
Weather was absolutely clear and not even a single cloud was visible in sky. We had breakfast and then hired Prado jeep and left for Kalam at 11 AM, The road towards Kalam was under construction and in bad condition we stopped at few places then offered juma prayer just before Kalam. We reached Kalam forest around 2:30 PM. We stopped at the location for a while then continued journey towards glacier near Ushu and Mitaltan. After a stop at glacier we returned back to Kalam for lunch and then went back to Behrain at night.
Day 5: Bahrain to Mardan 20.04.2019
We started our journey back towards Mardan on N 95 then we moved towards towards Qandeel. This road was quite good and traffic was also lesser. In afternoon we reached Matta and stopped at a nearby place known as Chotta Kalam for lunch. We continued our journey till Shamozai bridge and then went to Mardan through Chakdara and Malakand.
Day 6: Mardan to Lahore 21.04.2019
In morning we went to Islamabad via Motorway, then we had lunch over there and visited few shops at Jinnah Supper market and went to Lahore in evening.
