Tour to Deosai and hunza

M planing to camp at deosai and tgen visit hunza. My ride would be mehran 2017.
1. Would mehran b able to reach deosai.
2. What if i want to cross deosai land skardu and return to astore from same rout is it doable with mehran.
3. Where to get minimerg permission
4.camping advise for deosai.

Hello,

I don't think Mehran is good to go on this route. The road from Deosai to Skardu is very rocky.
You may camp on your own in Deosai, there is also option of getting it on rent, there are couple of fixed camps near bara pani.
You may get permission from GHQ Rawalpindi for Minimerg.

Whts best.. approch deosai from astore side or first go to skardu and aproch deosai from skardu.

Will babusar b opened in start july?

Babusar is open now. You should go from astore side and then Skardu. We did this way.
The road leading to Deosai from Astore is amazing. Do try to get permission for Minimerg as we couldn't but heard a lot about its beauty.

You may go to Chilim Choki(starting point of Deusaie, if yòu plan to go though Astore. A 4x4 is recommended for deusai and minimerg. For minimerg u need permission from army either from Gilgit or Astore.

Don't get misled, babusar can't be opened till the first week of july

Sorry my mistake, just confirmed it hasn't opened yet. However, it is expected that it will open earlier this year may be in First week of June.

There is a lot more snow at babusar this year so it might be opened after 2nd week of july. The best time to visit deosa is july up to mid august so don't go ealier

Babuser is alreadyopened. Gilgit skardu road is in very bed condition but skardu via astore and deosai is recommended but not feasible for mehran type cars to cross deosai
