Toyot corolla grande engine oil consumption

I recently bayed a Toyota corolla grande 2015 model 1.8 on meter 115000 km driven .
I changed engine oil 10w40 Hyundai but afteer 1500 km of driven the engine oil level is decreased according to the level the engine oil is consumed upto 1 litre. can someone tell what's the problem is possible to temperd(change) odo meter reading.

10 year old model with 115000 is quiet unrealistic milage. safe bet is that odometer is tampered.

sir @imtiazkhan607 would you please approach a workshop which can perform compression test - wet & dry readings shall not be lower then150+ psi at all 4 cylinders. leaking valves, bad pcv valve and weak rings are likely cause of engine oil reduction.

Yeah Grande shouldn’t burn so much oil.
Mine is over 200k newer than your model and doesn’t burn a drop of oil.

Anything less than 150k km for such models is meter reversed but it doesn’t matter Toyotas go strong even on 400k km..

The issue here is engine has some issue . You can either run it like this keep topping up OR overhaul it / do a rebuild from a reputable engine shop .

Mine is a 2014 1.8 CVT, bought when the odometer was at 107,000 km. I’ve driven 17,000 km in the last 10 months, including trips to Skardu and various places in the North. It still runs far better than many low mileage cars. I’m the second owner; the first owner maintained it quite well.

Yes when buying used, always try to go for cars with indication meter was not reversed by the owner.. like if it’s 6+ years old car expect to have a good number of kms on it. Plus general condition check.

Oil burning issue aside, your comment about a car with 10 years and 115000 km having a rolled back odometer for sure is not strictly correct. In households where there are more than one car, often milage is low. I speak from personal experience, I bought zero meter Honda Civic 2007 and sold it in 2017 with 96,000 km on it. My wife bought a Proton X70 in 2023 which she still owns has 15,000 km. While my car bought also in 2023 same month has 60,000km on it. I know of another person who has an identical car to mine bought a year earlier to mine in Karachi driven 3,500 km. So we can not guarantee for sure if this vehicle has a rolled back odometer.

However for cars with genuine low miles the condition of interior/suspension etc will usually show that it was seldomly used..

One low milage 2002 city is in family (deceased grand father's passed away in Covid) it has 17600 kms only. a weekend drive car for 5 kms round trip (under 50 km a month) oil is changed twice a year. we call her Burka-posh gari because we seldom see her in garage without cover.

however as per zulfiqar saheb the engine oil needs to be changed every 6-8 months or 6000+ kms which ever is earlier.
