Hi , I have a 2008 Corolla with a 2C engine , it has great fuel economy and decent power in hills and well uk how torquey Diesels can get . The only issue I have is that the pick or acceleration is too damn slow , its great on high speeds no doubt not a 2zz or a 3sgte level but it can keep up with most stock cars just fine in the motorway . Only falters and fails me in the city and i always have to look at others bumpers while they fly away in their petrol cars , i raced with a frnd once with an alto and i barely was ahead and lost one too lol
I was looking into fully converting it into a 2C te which is the same engine but minor tweaks internally and a turbo ct9 or 12 , it doesnt give too much power but its better than stock . Im also looking for other upgrades like bigger fuel pump , more induction or airflow with a bigger Cold Air Intake .
I had found a blog a year ago which covered everything u had to do to convert it and it seemed like a hassle , other forums i found ppl sharing experience of doing other tuning with turbo as well as ppl putting 3C turbo and fuel pump which resulted pretty bad .
I want a cost effective and good build which ensures the reliability of the engine , the prblm is that not many are really experienced with this engine for performance as it was never its purpose .
Lastly , I really dont wanna get rid of the 2C but if its too much hassle and too expensive im thinking of maybe putting a 2zz or 3sgte instead . Its a family car so im trying to just keep them stock if it ever comes to that but im also a fan of 2zz and also hesitant on a whoke engine change .
So how much will all this cost for me ?
Has anyone any idea on how to go on with this conversion safely .
How much will turbo charging cost ?
And How much will those 2 engines i mentioned go for a full on swap .
Lastly is turbo charging or engine swap more worth it ?
Please help me out here im really confused and eager to do something about this .
