Toyota 4K engine rebuild

Assalam Alaikum
One of my friend is planning to buy an 82 Corolla and restoring it. Now i want some info about Toyota 4K engine
1) How relaible is Toyota 4K engine
2) how much chances of successful rebuild of Toyota 4K engine in terms of parts availablilty and level of skills required.
3) Fuel consumption of this engine in 82 corolla with stock 4spd gearbox

4k engines are best and tough engines. Parts are easily available.

i have a dx81 with 1.3 cc 4K engine. it gives me around 10 kms per litre.

if he has budget why not go for an 7k engine with 5 speed gear box. more power and a much tougher engines. There are efi versions also available in 7k which will give u power as well as economy.

plus they will be bolt on fit i think.

Actually he want to keep it stock. Is rebuilding it a relaible solution I mean desi mechanic know how to rebuild it???

yes, if it is done prepoerly, it will last longer bus CNG se bachana:)
