Need expert advice on toyota 5vzfe.i have been suing one for last 7 years. Amazing engine. Glt some issues too need help in sorting them as much as i can. Issie 1 heavy on fuel. Gives me 6/6.5 on the highway 3 km on off road tracks. Will changing it from manual transmission to auto help ? Because im not sure ifcthe ratios are matching . How do get a ratio test thst the transmission and diffs and this engine are all compatible ? If i go diesel what how sre 13bt or 5L as options ?? Oh yes i very frequently get fuel pump issues. It burns out. Thanks

Not an expert on this engine but auto rarely gives better mileage than a manual. If your gear ratios are messed up you can change the diffs to change them to proper ones. To check gear ratios check car speed and engine rpm and gear and post them here. Somebody will verify

It is an amazing engine (experience from a 1999 Surf with Automatic Transmission). Very robust and in my experience not very difficult to maintain so I am surprised at the issues. Maybe improper wiring or lack of required maintenance. For mileage 5-6 is what you will get come what may...
