Toyota Altis 1.6 2022 drop in mileage

I got a zero meter car delivered this year in January. So far it has run 6000kms. Initially it was giving average mileage of around 11-12kms with AC. But recently after getting maintenance done from Toyota Society Motors for Rs.15,500 the mileage has dropped to 9.8-10.2kms. I reported the issue to Society Motors, asked them to check my car, but they said 10km is a very good average and that Altis gives average of 7-9km. Upon my insistence they just did some meaningless formalities, such as starting the car, driving it for 200-300 meters, only to tell me everything is fine. Then I further insisted to check the air filter, so they checked it, cleaned it with air pressure and asked me to reset the meter and test again if any problem occurs.

Basically, they never accepted that it's a problem and hence they didn't care to find out the root cause.

So it has been a complete waste of time and money at Toyota Society Motors and I am obviously never going there again and would highly recommend anyone reading this not to bother getting car maintenance from them.

Anyways, if anyone knows what could be the possible reasons for this sudden mileage drop, please let me know. Also, if anyone else has faced this issue, please respond.

As they say try the fuel filling method to find actual milage.
Fill the tank, run for 100 kms then refil.

Note the fuel quantity, get the avg by dividing km driven by the fuel pumped.

change engine oil to 5W-30,
Toyota 3S are using 20W-50 because they have bulk supply at discounted price. Ruining the modern day EFI engine at cost of customer

I get average of 14 to 15 on long at speed of 120 in my Altis 1.8, using 5w-30 full synthetic

You have a cvt (more efficient) than the 1.6 4 speed.

They're using 5w30 now in newer cars. In fact, the packing is even available in 4.2L.
They have this lineup now.
0w20 by idemitsu, 5w30 semisynthetic by mobil askari, 10w40 api sp idemitsu, 5w50 by idemitsu.

Op should confirm the oil they have used from the bill.

Check air filter and try attock or shell petrol. These 2 r best and give good mileage

I filled the tank twice, from the same place I always do. Reset the meter 3 times and it is still consistent with 9.8 to 10.2 km/liter at max. I think Toyota Society Motors has messed up with something or, after reading the responses, it could be that Toyota's Oil is a poor quality Oil, sold at premium prices.

I don't use Toyota oils, though they're of good quality and most of them are idemitsu japan blended and repackaged in Pakistan, but there are 11th generations corolla who are well over 300k kms on odo with Toyota oil. Please confirm from the bill, which oil did they pour in your car?

If you're driving in rush hour your fuel economy is fine by keeping in mind traffic of Karachi.
I get 13.5-14km/l from a 1.8cvti on havoline 5w40 at 152k kms odo, but my speed remains 70-80km/h on different routes. Driving within society my car also gives 9-10km/l

a significant change in mileage only comes when using thicker oil than before...other than that they cant mess it ...
