I second that. I wish 1.6 Altis had CVT as well, it would have been a killer in terms of fuel efficiency and smooth acceleration. Sad that IMC never made it a reality...

Your points are valid. Still Altis 1.6 is not sluggish with this old tranny and produces good power and its a good value for money in corolla lineup.

I have kept altis 1.6 FL for year and also have test driven Yaris 1.5 Ativ CVT 3 weeks back. First things first:
1 Altis 1.6 handling , stability is way better than Yaris.
2 Fuel economy of Yaris is better with figures of 17-18 km/L on medium stop and go traffic (Not assumed figures , I observed it myself when I was test driving it )
3 The only sketchy thing here is that the options offered in Yaris 1.5 is gold as compared to Altis 1.6 , so going by our "Taap aaf da lane" general public theory Yaris 1.5 is better than altis 1.6 and it will sell more.
4 Plus new gen of Corolla will be launched sometime next year and as a fellow member said above the resale factor is important. Even if Toyota launches 1.6 with some changes the price will touch 3.5 M with new dollar hike which I doubt many people will buy it.

New Corolla is not here till 2022 now i guess. Reason is depreciating rupee and once Corona is over, dollar will be out of control..plus the rest of inflation tamasha. New Corolla full.option vatiants will be close to 5 million probably...so expect no such models in near future. Yaris is going to stay here longer and longer.... Civic will also continued with same shark fin. Economy is totally down thw drain in no time and pandemic is not allowing us to get stable anytime soon

I m talking about new Corolla based on expected inflation. I m saying current Civic will go on longer...like other cars..as for new new models, a lot of investment will be required. I m not saying corolla/civic ...i m talking about inflation factor only

Fyi pkdm is not a facelift like rest of world..and cost cutting is evident as well. Things are getting worse actually.. prices are already out of reach for so many people and i doubt if this is gonna stop anytime soon.... situation will.clarify itself after Corona

Bro our corolla is same till 12 th gen was launched
Pakistan is always behind rest of the world..but 11 gen had the same..even bumpers compared to rest of world..infact even in Australia, 12th gen started in Sept 2019, i remember. I again repeat, lets not start that again... don't change the topic direction... if u just consider bumper difference in Civic, then please compare it with international model, just for 5 mins.

Corolla FL was same across world started in 2017 till mid 2019..now it's over to 12th gen...
