I am thinking to buy a 9th generation altis(around 10 lac) . Just wanted to know it's known issues or problems which might have to face. It's fuel average is around 9 in city and 14 on highway. Automatic will be 8 in city and 13 on highway. And it's per km maintenance cost will be around rs 3. Are these numbers correct? I know it depends a lot on condition of used vehicle, but just interested to get ballpark figures.

And do you feel any problems or regrets while using it? And what about using it as a daily driver in traffic jams of Lahore?

I have to travel around 1200km in Lahore monthly and around 1000km on gt road (khadda roads etc) monthly. So that's why corolla looks only viable option.

In the budget of 10 lac its a very feasible option as atleast you will get a low mileage car as opposed to its 1.3 liters siblings like Gli & Xli which are very hard to find in a good condition in this budget. Coming to Its fuel average you have exact figures I got 12.5 on highways and get around 7-8 in city. Drive wise its a very nice car even better than its newer gen Altis as it has a smaller body so better power to weight ratio. The only known issue to me is that it consumes engine oil without any reason.

If fuel average is not an issue than go for it specifically Automatic one as it will be easier in traffic conditions otherwise Honda City 2008 1.3 i.Dsi is best option (12-13 in city)

Thanks, and any confirmation of maintenance cost? How much a 100k to 150k driven vehicle will consume per km for its maintenance?
Oil change after every 5k.
Change of any other parts etc after every __ ? I can think of changing brake pads, and for automatic change of gear box oil, maybe some other parts which I might need replacement due to wear and tear?

Again it depends a lot on condition of vehicle, but just wanted to get rough ideas.

I maintain my car through Toyota dealership it cost me 10000 after every 4000 Km's from Toyota 3'S.
Transmission oil has a very long life so no need to worry about it.

Thanks, Can you also tell something about braking of altis 9th generation. There is general concept that brakes of 9th generation corolla are not good as compare to 10th generation. Since altis has abs, so how you compare it with 10th generation GLI or other variants.

And also can you compare the resale of automatic vs manual for 9th gen altis. I guess manual will have much better resale value, right?

Yes only in Pakistan MT has always better resale then AT but in the case of Altis there is not a very large difference as 1800cc segment comes in luxury sector in Pakistan therefore economy is not a big issue.

Brakes are ABS but road grip is not as good as its newer model because this model is much taller than Indus Corolla and width is less in comparision with its height

I am using Toyota Petron 20W50. Although I never checked oil consumption precisely but I think it consumes like 1/2 liter in 1000 kilometers
