I jost bought Altis 2011 1.6 auto. 70000km on odo. Got all oils changed including ATF. But i dont know wheter it was befor or now, some times while pressi g the accelaeration i hear a very minor but contiuos strage sound. When i left tje paddle, no sound. I stopped the car and again press the paddle but no sound apart from some sound in silencer when i leave paddle at high rpm. Can any body suggest whether it is silencer causing the sound because i hit speed breaker last night with pessengers on back seat. But.sound appear to come from front side i dont know. But surely it comes when i press the paddle hard and and not when i press slowly, whether in high or low speeds.

when i press on recirculate air button in car when ac is on the rpm starts to fall while idling in neutral (Altis Automatic 1.6-2012).

With recirculate button off,the Ac works fine RPM does not drop, what could be the reason

How much did it cost? My chain started to rattle a few months back and it rattled between 1500-2000 RPMs. I got the tensioner changed only which was malfunctioned and it somehow solved the problem. Just curious to know though
1. How much it cost? (the complete set replacement)
2. Did you get it replaced from a dealership or somewhere else?
3. Labour charges?
4. Time required for replacement?

Guys what's the ideal fuel average of this car in City driving?
I m from Karachi and am presently getting 8 km/ litre with AC in City. Kindly comment

How much horsepower your engine has?Do you drive gently or rashly.I think 8 km is fine.

It's 1600 CC, 2012 Model, Automatic Altis. I don't remember the exact horsepower. Car is driven gently.

Civic 8th generation gives this average.So altis should give you a little better average.My gli 1.3 manual gave me 11-12 (with a/c in city) 14-15 (without ac).

So in tune up, weak spark plugs were diagnosed By Toyota dealership. Got them changed and now the car has touched 11 km/ litre.
Getting the spark plugs was a hassle though in Karachi​!

Toyota dealership 2 price 2200/pcs (dubai import)

Open market shops prices ranged from 1000 to 1800/-

And all are GENUINE!

My query is regarding oil grade to be used in my ride Toyota altis 2012 cruisetronic 95,000 km done. I have been using 10w-40 in the past. I want to put in 5w-30 this time. Both synthetic. Is there any advantage/disadvantage in shifting to 5w-30? I will be using Castrol magnatec in either case. Expert advice is sought.
