Toyota altis grande engine oil

Hello dear pakwheelers. I recently bought a toyota altis grande 2019 model which was 20k driven. I did my first oil change, pouring caltex havoline ow20, and the retailer suggested me to go for next oil change after 10k. Dont know about its history of previous oil changes !
The car is giving me an average of 12 with ac.
What do you suggest is this viscosity grade fine? Should i continue with this one ?
If no, what grades are recommended? Please give your suggestions.

Bro if your car is not reducing much oil and running fine, keep using it. Change at 5k. If u want to change brand, then i would suggest zic 0w20 fully synthetic. This one is also fine. You are getting good average.

As far as I know turbo civic is the only local mnf car in which 0w 20 is recommended

I haven't noticed a significant reduction in oil as i have driven it for 3k since i changed the oil. Everything is going on smoothly.
But the toyota manual suggests 5w30 &10w30, therefore i had this doubt in my mind to ask for recommendations !

Keep an eye on it. If its reducing then switch to 5w30

Is the vehicle under warranty, or otherwise?

And if its under warranty, would you like to keep it and continue with it or not?

If YES, then you have no other option other than to have everything done from authorized Toyota dealership, and also use their lubes.

If NO, or at least if you have the option of going for after market brands, then Total Quartz 9000 Future Series 5w-30 all the way!

A best value to money oil in its league IMO.

Yes i am planning to keep the vehicle all the way for the next few years.
Well at times, even the toyota dealership have a wrong approach towards vehicles as well. I have experienced this.
Pakwheelers and forums here suggest something else, and when you ask the dealerships, they are suggesting something different.

I am of the opinion that retailer does not seem sincere to you.

Irrespective what the retailer or oil brand says, its best to follow the owners / users manual, especially with regards to drain intervals.

I am quite sure that in your manual, the drain interval would be 5,000 Kms (or 06 months, whichever comes 1st), then why go for 10,000 Kms drain interval?

GOD Forbid, if anything goes bad and wrong with the engine, then that retailer is not going to take any sort of responsibility, nor is he gonna entertain regarding warranty claims.

2ndly, regarding engine oil grade; in this particular case, I won't suggest to go for 0w-20 or 5w-20 oils. The min. should be 5w-30, rest, yours money, yours choice!

Yeah no doubt, total quartz is a good option.
But the question here is, should i continue with the same grade or switch to another !

Then Better to be safe than sorry.

5w-30, fully synthetic, from some reputed brand, meeting latest API and ILSAC criteria. Oil must be 100% authentic.

You may continue with it for the time being, but try to switch to recommended engine oil grade from next oil change, preferably early.

Even if the retailer suggests me to change it on 10k,i wont. I always change oil 500-1000kms prior to what they say, and in this situation, i was quite skeptical, i was planning to change it on 6k.

Then why did you go for 0w-20, and not even 5w-20?

Bro better switch on manufacturers recommended interval. 5k max. As basit bhai stated above, u may use it for one or two times then switch to 5w30

Well, i was confused and today out of no where, this querry came to my mind of getting some info about it. And even had a look at the manual today for the first time lolz. Anyways, will be careful after this

If its under warranty, and you are planning to keep the vehicle, then look carefully for what I have stated above, and whenever you have time, please go through the owners / users manual.

You'll learn a lot, and if you encounter any problem, please ask here from fellow members. The community will be happy to assist and guide you, up to the best of their knowledge, experiences, etc.

You have driven 3,000 Kms on 0w-20 by Caltex / Havoline.

When 5,000 Kms limit is reached (i.e. you drive for further 2,000 Kms), switch to Total Quartz 9000 Future Series 5w-30, and change oil after every 5,000 Kms.

In the meantime, keep a strict eye on engine oil level on dipstick.

Short answer is YES. You should switch grade from next oil change.

Nope. No need to change early, as its a waste of money and resources IMO.

Just change at ~5,000 kms, neither 4000~4500 Kms, nor 5500~6000 Kms.
