You've been using a very thick oil w50 for a long time.

I'm afraid it might have done some damage, so if you choose the right oil I.e 0w20 or 5w30, the SYMPTOMS of that damage might become apparent. Like, little oil reduction.

A super thick oil like w50 might mask the symptoms n keep on wearing down the engine.

5w40 is still quite thick, but at least better than w50.

you may switch to it or go directly to the right oil 5w30. Your choice.

Mobil1 genuine is best in class.
But don't have official channel presence I think.

Can't go wrong with havoline, shell either.

All 3 are good. Get the cheapest official branded fully synthetic.

Let me tell u an interesting story.
I called Toyota Rawal and they told me that use 5w50 till 80,000 and later we will switch it to Perron 10w30

Engine oil 5w30 is the right grade, and should be used from the start, but I can't say what will happen after switching to w30 from a thick oil like w50.

Flushing isn't really needed if you're using fully synthetic oils.

Dont listen to any toyota dealerships at all. They misguide you alot and they follow the conventional guidelines issued to them years ago.
Pakwheels is a good forum if you want some info regarding your vehicle, also check your user's manual for a proper insight.
I use 0w20 in my grande and totally satisfied with the vehicle, you can use any one either w20 or w30, choice is yours, although user's manual suggests 5w30, so better go with that as you are switching from w50. No need of engine flush, straight away switch to this grade and assess dipstick levels aftr every 1000kms.

Any brand will do the job but oil must be genuine nd bought from official distributors.
Liqui moli nd mobil 1 good but expensive.
Other well reputed brands are caltex havoline, total quartz, valvoline which are comparativly cheaper

No it wont do any harm. My grande giving me 11 in locals nowadays with ac and 12-13km/L on long route

Well , i am going to shift engine oil of my Altis 1.6.2020 model 20k km driven on 5w 50 , to shell helix 5w 30.
As my other car also on shell 5w 30 so it is convenient for me to buy 4l and remaining from honda city 200ml to pour in Altis
So guys what you think shell 5w 3o is ok ?

What’s ur recommendations for my grande
It’s now at 62k
From 20k to 62k I have been using 5w50 taglon in it
Now I want to switch to 5w30 but a mechanic told me Tha it will harm my engine. Toyota guys are suggesting to switch to 10w30 Perron plus

5W-30 will be good if you are living somewhere in north. Down track locations from RYK to KHI 10W-30 will suffice. Choose brand carefully from brand station.
