Guys ,

I am going travel to Northern areas by end of his month , but I am a little worried about 2 things
* Will toyota Aqua be able to take us to Naran and then Hunza ( 4 persons sitting + Luggage ) keeping in view the ground clearance.
* for Uphill - I don't see any special Gear , which could help us in on sharp mountains curve ? I see that there is only 1 Gear after "D" mode and that's "B "which helps in down the hill.Can you please tell what to do for uphill ?

as i have seen car with family

because of low ground clearance they stuck there

corolla is best for that area

Then you will ruin the car’s suspension and need new shocks after a couple years.

Also if any one has any idea what Gear can be used for Uphill ? cause there is None / other then " B ":

You can take your car all the way upto Khunjerab.

You can make through rough patches if youre careful. The car might scrape its underbelly a few times but thats ok. I dont know why Pakistanis are so worried of it.

As long as you dont damage/break anything a few scrapes to the underbelly are completely fine and have no detrimental effect on the car.

I say so because I have been scraping underbellies for a long time now.

But do check the current road conditions which might be bad due to construction of hydropower project.

This post is not to misguide you but to give an advice to make the best use out of your current circumstances.

Do you have any idea about the Gear system in Aqua , it doesnot have any "1 " , " 2 " gear like other cards . just " D " and " B "

And from my experience " D " puts a lot of pressure on engine while through sharp up hill turns.

It has CVT, hence no 1,2,3.
Drive in D mode when going uphill
Use S,L mode when coming downhill.

The patch from Babusar top to Chilas is tricky use caution there, both downhill/uphill.

The rest of the of road is good and easy to drive on.

Yes. Can add spacers but will ruin your driving experience.

Your car can go anywhere as long as it's mechanically sound. On very rough patches (there is patch of road after Naran where cars have to cross a river bed) the passengers can get out and car can cross with careful driving. No big problem. Enjoy your trip.

Islamabad to hunza are petrol pumps enroute? Can anyone tell me more about babusar to chillas road , I heard it's a steep downhill? Break heat up stories? Secondly do I have to carry car docs? Are there any check post where they check docs?

Fill up at Abottabad and top up again at Naran. That should easily get you to Chilas. Use engine braking if you have a manual car or low gear mode if auto. I visited Naran last in end 2015 and no one stopped me or asked me for documents anywhere.

yes you may add, but don't add more than 1 inch, better a quarter inch only in the rear springs... i used the quarter inch spacers and large tyre profiles and that worked excellent in terms of ground clearance and road grip... but had compromised 1-2km/l in fuel average in the city with AC.

My Aqua 2018 tyre size is 205/60/15

if possible, keep the luggage load minimum as the Babusar raod is very tricky to drive on from both sides as ali454 mentioned.

Iam going to visit naran and then hunza and some other places.I recently have bought a vezel 2015 awd and many people are saying that vezel gear would heat up driving up hill.I have visited to hunza and all these northern areas alot of times on different cars and now i have vezel and would be travelling on vezel.
I want to know if anyone of you has visited these areas on a vezel.
I have also asked this question several times in forums and many people say that you just need to drive in sports and use paddle shifters and it would be good.
