It's based entirely on your personal choice and budget that you've got but based on the fact that Toyota Axio is better in all aspects and in fact, its also newer in model, I'll suggest you to go for Toyota Axio..
Get Axio as it has same 1NZ engine with CVT which will better fuel average if the gear oil has been as suggested by Toyota as CVT is a bit fragile as compared to 4-speed Automatic gear in X Corolla with the same engine. It's newer, has better features if the varient has them. Both are roughly in the same Budget nowadays.
Both are good if compared with any local assembled and if both are compared to each other obviously newer the car better the technology but presently both are a decade or more old so go for the one which is in good maintained condition
