replace transmission oil (CVT) only buy original Toyota CVT transmission oil from Toyota.. & change after every 40k-50k.. costs around 4k
Around 4 liter dalta hai.. the mechanic will know.. but change it asap

Salaam. Guys, the ride side view mirror of my belta opens up but does not stop when it supposed to and turns full round and tries turning around all the time. Can I fix it?

Since you're in Karachi - I would strongly recommend you to go to the place near (not to) Magezine line - Call Zubair before going there at 0306 200 8951 (Zubair Mirrors). He's a pretty decent guy and charges nominally- I guess some mechanical part is broken so he'll probably open the side mirror take it to his workshop and fix again. Negotiate the price before letting him take it off.

I've had good experience with him a few times hence recommending him.

Sad to know brother, its always more painful when this happens for the first time. I hope the car is insured? In my case (3 years ago) I got them replaced by used one's. They replace the plastic plate with a metal one and the mirror + motor is probably from another poor chap like you :).

In my case I was taken to this guy named Zubair by insurance company and it costed 10,000 for the pair. I would advise you to get the "Steel wire" installed too for additional protection. Just ask Zubair for wire protection. His number is "0306 200 8951".

Just realised you were replied earlier

New one's can be arranged by Toyota showrooms and cost a lot more. You would need to call e.g. Toyota Central "021 111 786 122" and get a quote. If insured, you would bear part of the cost, depending on the model of your car.

now thats interesting.... much thanks for pointing this out. im attaching the snapshot below of the mentioned page.. 6.3 liters... i have changed it twice 4.0 liters each in the 5 years of my belta.. & no mechanic ever pointed this out before. still i think.. this needs to be discussed with seniors of this group as well as some senior Mechanics before meddling further with your Transmission. i would request the senior guys here to discuss & provide their input

"infact the prime reason in most transmission failures is that the mechanics end up over filling the chamber, thus damaging the internal gearbox and pump seals. Here is what actually happened with my Belta 2 days ago: When you open up the drain plug for any of the K-series CVT transmissions which Toyota is putting in most of its newer models, only about 500ml or less of the transmission fluid drains out, leading one to believe that the transmission was running without oil, but that is absolutely not the case. The drain plug has an internal drain tube which extends about a little more than 2 inches inside the chamber, this causes the oil level to just drop till the mouth of this tube and hence the mystery disappearance behind the transmission oil. In order to fully drain the transmission oil, you will need to open up the oil chamber and drain out the fluid. This will also require you to replace the two gaskets which are firmly placed on top of the chamber. After completely draining the oil, about 3.8-4.0 liters of oil is taken up by the transmission.
Then to make matters worse, Toyota hasnâ?�??�?t really provided with a dipstick or a gauge to check the level of the transmission fluid. The mechanics even at Toyota Southern argued that the side housing nut is the correct place to feed oil from and that it should be filled unless it levels off around that point. The truth is that if you do end up filling to that level you would be over-filling the chamber with about 3.5 liters of transmission oil and that can cause some serious irreparable damage"

agreed.. did the same here in lahore with my car & there hell a lot of performance difference now.. much better pick & less knocking.. since 5 years no *** mechanic ever pointed this out

Aoa. For info of all. Today i went to Mr Saleem at I-10 to get my Cat con checked, as i was experienncing low performance, more fuel . The gentleman is really a professional. He throughly checked catcon, by inserting a camera inside just like endoscopy.He also showed my inside situatuon and pictures were also captured. Whole catcon was blocked. Then he cleaned it and reinstall it. Believe me a drastic differeence in car performance. I am really satisfied. He performed all jobs like a professional. I suugest to all not to remove catcon and no need to go to silencer wala or clean it with HCL. Go to him , consult him, you qont regret.
