To each his own, but I would love this car in it's all original vanilla state, with bias ply tyres and wheel caps, all mouldings and chrome intact, with the engine swapped to a bigger badder forced induced motor, with original exterior giving absolutely no hint of it's rowdy nature. A true sleeper that would be....

Sort of like that Nova the Hot Rod magazine guys built up once.

sir its still orignal ... only flares are made ... because of high powered engine... the stock rim tires were not able to control the torque ... car was sliding from here to there ... thats y i decided to put up the tires which would be bigger in size and width also ... when i fixed those we found out that the tires were hitting the walls of the car ... due to which we made decision to make flares

but then u can use HID in normal housings.. better wouldve been to use chrome paint as it was on the inside of lights will give it a stock loook.. n same plasctic lenses. that will look stock but serve the purpose..

have u seen the original lights of this car ??? hid cant be fitted in those lights... leave hid even a simple bulb cant be connected to them ... those are sealed beams bro .... disposable kinda things .... after that coming to the point chrome paint .... do u understand why people put up projectors now adays ... ???? because the time is changing and bringing up new technologies ... chrome was used to reflect the light in various directions ... while the projectors dont need that shittt ... projectors have large convex lenses which are enough to spread the light ... more than a simple halogen tube and those reflectors can do .... so that is why i painted the core of beam to black ....

perhaps he (w202)meant the lights you have chopped.. these lights use H1 type bulbs, one can use HIDs for H1 type bulbs.
The projector lamps you are using seems for DRLs (Daytime Running Lights), I am afraid it might not give you a focused beam of light.. better check it before finalizing..

I have been quietly watching this thread with great interest. The car is coming along nicely. The discussion about the projector lights being "day time running lights" has prompted me to say that I would disagree. Hopefully I will not upset anybody by my disagreement. My 745Li (see picture below) had these as a factory option and I can tell you from personal experience that you will not be disappointed by the level of illumination from projectors.

My bad, just realized that these are DRL + Projectors...
anyway do not compare German projector lamps with Chinese one. I myself is using ' 88 BMW 3 Series projector lamps in my '73 MKII, and the illumination is even and great..

Heh heh. You really had me there!! I saw the picture of the lights he is planning to use in the previous post and I could swear that there were projector lights with an angel eye around them just like my 745Li then you said they were DRL and I got really very confused. See close up of my old 745's lights, what he is planning to use is pretty much the same thing.

Yes, Chineese lights does not compare with European hardware but at the end of the day, we want to know where we are going in the dark and these lights will do that.

The light is actually produced by the bulb, the reflectors spread it evenly on the road.. No matter how strong beam a bulb produce, if it is not properly reflected on the road, it will not serve the purpose. I remember reading a number of posts regarding the problem with Chinese lightening hardware..
lets wait for the final outcome..

its k12 ... the thinnest putty ... and its just the coat .... after that ... "manjhai" will get started ... and all this puttty will get vanished ... only the patch where body needs the putty will remain the same .... other wise we will paint on the steel body....

I am sure you will get it "just right". A sure way of knowing if there is to much putty is the magnet test.
