i know this post is old, but did anyone manage to find a celica? @Timberwolfi have the same thing in mind. I need to restomod one. Did you have anyluck?
Sadly, no. I gave up on it in fact because the cars I found were too expensive, and restoring these beauties takes a lot of time, patience, and money.
Around how much was being demanded for the celicas you found? Its so difficult to get a celica in the right condition
More than 300k for cars that don't have a sound chassis. The body would need a ton of work, and most cars don't have original anything in them.
Same here. How does a 70s mark2 sound for a similar project?
Sounds good. The only problem would be the parts. You'll have to find alternatives for almost everything. The hardest part would be stuff like the dashboard and headlights.IF you can find one in good condition, you shouldn't have much problem in setting it up how you want it.
How about a first generation 1977 Toyota Corona Mark2 JDM which was called Cressida in international markets?
That's a different car altogether. You're talking about a mid size sedan. We're talking about a small, 2 door coupe
Wont the 77 - 84 Mazda 323's serve the purpose?! There was a 2-door 84 up for sale on OLX, not so long ago. Seemed complete from the looks of it!
For some, it might. For me, it doesn't.It's like calling a Corolla a viable substitute for a BMW 540i, or a Celica a viable substitute for a classic Mustang or Camaro
Beggars can't be choosers; I hope you've heard the phrase! But anyway, best of luck with search!
