i was thinking the same thing when driving my brother's se saloon but when i left the race, it shifted to the next gear. which means that i was on 4th gear at this rpm. try doing this and it might help. i drive at a very light foot so the rpm was very low even when i was hitting 140 km/hr on lahore ring road. the experts can help but this is what i learned after keeping the car for more than 5 years and still running fine.

Brother as i have already told you. I have toyota corolla se saloon. Your car is absolutely fine. Nothing wrong with its transmision.

Corollas have higher gear ratios. Civic 1.8 manual does 100km/h on 2.5k rpm

My uncles 2007 Xli does high rpm om high speeds as well. Totally fine.

like i said before i do have altis 2006 but its auto, i have also driven a 2007 manual altis, rpm should not be this high do check if your clutch is okay and engaging properly, your clutch wire may not have enough tension and your clutch is only partially engaged causing this high rpm, even GLi 5spd manual rpm at 120 is 3800rpm, manual altis should have no more than 3000 rpm

drive another altis yourself and see if the rpm is same , that should clear any confusion left in your mind

It normal. Mine is doing 80kmph at 2500rpm and 100kmph at 3100rpm

Exactly the same gear ratio. I have Altis 2007 (old shape). It's perfectly normal.

I also have short gear problem. My car is European Toyota Corolla E150 1.6 2009.
3000 rpm: 100 km/h.
4000 rpm: 132 km/h.
And I was unpleasantly surprised when I went out on the highway. We have some good highways and these short gears are outrageous. Looks like this car is built for the city. And now I am angry.
The spedometer is written up to 240 km/h Really?! That's a marketing trick. Even 200 seems impossible.
In the past I had Civic 1.4 and it was slightly better: 3000 rpm: 105 km/h, 4000 rpm: 140 km/h.

I made altrition in LIANA and this is its new speed.
