Salaam dear Pakwheelers:

I am confused as if my Altis 2006 is having Gear Issue! I am wondering if my Gear Ratio is correct or on the higher side. I am aware that Toyota Corollas have high Gear Ratios but my Altis gear ratio seems too high. At 3000rpm the speed is at 95-100kmh. Pic attached for reference.

Please share your experience with Speedo-meter pix for reference.

Need help from Transmission Gurus.

mine honda city 1.5 rpm at 3.5k and speed is 120km/hour at 5th gear

i think it should be normal

Swift has long gear ratios for a manual tranny......one of the very few things I liked about my swift.
btw wait till you experience a 4efte with c52 tranny. Lol that thing locks first gear over 60

this model of corolla has very short gear ratios so I am pretty sure this is normal rpm. I don't remember my XLi's rpm or would have guided you better. To make sure that the ratio is fine. Lock the first and second gear. 1st gear locks at just below 50 and second at exact 90. That is confirmed. If your car does the same, no need to worry then. Its perfectly normal

Its normal bro. my elder cousin is having 2003 SE Saloon(AT) and that too takes high rpm's to change the gears

Last week,my father drove his colleague's XLi on M1. He found it extremely annoying that it was 4k+ @130 km/h, 5th gear.This transmission is suited more for city drives or hilly areas.

i think something wrong with your clutch it is slipping, i also have 2006 altis but its auto its rpm at 90 is 1800 and at 120 is 2800,
5sp manual altis rpm should be no more than 3000 rpm at 120

It is normal bro. I have toyota corolla se saloon. My car has exactly same rpm as u showed in picture.

Its normal my xli 07 also behaves same i wonder rpm will be 5k + on 140-145 kmph

i have a 2006 altis auto and its rpm remains at 2000 rpm at 80-90 km/hr! since auto tranny is 4gear and manual is 5 gear so maybe gear ratios are different maybe thats why ur rpm is at 3000 rpm!
try having the cars throttle body serviced and it may make a difference even try having the IACV serviced! and whats the condition of the cars airfilter?

1.3 Gli 2012 5th gear 100kmph 3000rpms.....Your rpm is totally normal....Cultus has better Gear Ratios As I own Cultus too....Cuktus 110kmph at 5th gear 3000rpms
