I have a xli 04, 200,000 on the od. apparently, & is gulping too much petrol, rpm is not stable ocasionally. while driving, at times one feels as if the engine is applying a negative force. cleaned the maf sensor (with a carb cleaner, not sure how much damage did it do and how to rectify it), saw much improvement. before cleaning the maf, the car was literally smoking black from the exhaust on petrol.
ive a cng kit installed.not sure if its interfering. apparently, i think its an afr (oxygen sensor setting) and the maf's issue. how could i know what exactly it is? should i get a computerized tuning? is it worth having? can the afr and maf or whatever sensors control this stuff be configured?
went to a person who attached some fancy obd (bluetoothed it to his laptop). showed me air flow reading etc etc.. couldn't retrieve the afr and stft ltft stuff. had a throttle body paddle position error. he said i need to change some 'ticky' inside the throttle body. i am having a very poor mileage on petrol. need to fix it. could you please help? i am in lhr, not sure what are the optimum readings of air flow at respective rpms. mine idle rpm fluctuates between 792-1153. he says it should be stable at 850. i badly need help at lahore.
apologies for bugging though.
your help would be appreciated.
