Hello everyone. I have toyota corolla 2012 model. 2 weeks ago i went to a mechanic to check clunky noise coming from steering side when driving over a bumpy surface. The mechanic suggested me to change the steering rack assembly. Before that i was not aware of this assembly that how i should be repair. I changed the whole assembly and left my original assembly with mechanic who said this could be repaired for short time period so this is scrap now. So i left that with him. He assembled some desi steering rack and i was not aware at that time. Now the problem has gone but now the steering is not that much soft and further on U-turns the steering does not come to straight position it self. Please guide me where i can find original steering rack and get the issue repair. Secondly, did that mechanic was true about the old assembly that it can not be repaired!. Thanks.
