Toyota Corolla Altis 1.6 facelift infotainment system

Hi,

Just bought an Altis 1.6. The infotainment system looks good but doesnt play video while driving. There was an option in the pre-facelift version to disable/enable this feature is settings. But after the facelift, the new Alpine screen doesnt have that option. Anyone knows how to enable it?

Many cars around the world do not allow you to watch video on the front screen while driving. I imagine a branded system will not allow you that anymore as these companies follow international law on safety very seriously.

hi how is your experience with 1.6. I am also looking forward to buy it soon. I want to know about the possibility of installing the front cam? i hope no extra ordinary effort will be required. do u see any option of front cam in the existing infotainment system. and whats the difference of grande meter and 1.6 meter. Is there any?

I have had it for a week now and have enjoyed every but of it. Shifted from honda city to Altis 1.6. The drive is smooth and the car is very responsive. Havent checked the front cam option yet but I suggest that you talk to the dealership about it when you book yours. After the facelift, 1.6 now comes with the wow meter that previous grande had. The meter in the facelifted grande has a slightly larger display.

its the same 4.2 inch TFT display as written. I heard of only sports mode turns this red and VSC lights work as well

You can install front cam easily, no rocket science in it. Just go to some good audio shop, it will cost you around 2000rs with labour.
In my 2016 altis 1.8cvti, it works with AV application. Headunit had ports for AV input so its plug and play. To play videos I installed MX player, see if you can install something like that

what's you feel comparison , transfereing from. city to corolla 1.6 ? which one is better?

Not much difference. City was doing 14 KM/L within city with AC, while the corolla is doing 12-13 KM/L. But its more powerful compared to city and gives a much smoother ride.

Not yet. I have a 1000 KM inspection at the dealership next week. Will ask them for a solution.

So the 1000 KM inspection was done. People at Sahara motors Lahore didn't know much about the new system. They will confirm from IMC/Vendor how this is done. There is a simple solution just to cut the wire that connects the infotainment system to the hand brake. But that will void the electrical warranty. So now im waiting for an update from the vendor.

WAA. Havent tried that yet. Will give it a go In sha Allah. But I heard that it drains the phone battery. Having videos on a USB is the fastest option.

To activate navigation you have to pay 7600 to dealership

my nams is tabish and im from karachi, does your car still gives the average of 12-13km/l or has it dropped down now?

im planning to buy in jan. but due to negative response of people regarding fuel average which is below 10km/l is making me think twice...
