For all those praising the Altis for having paddle shifters, they are useless and offer absolutely no driving pleasure. same is the case with the CR-Z. Whats the point of locking a cvt tranny in a certain ratio for a few seconds and then changing the ratio just to let the rpm fall and rise back without feeling the torque of the engine. In my personal opinion, i think its for geeks.
Coming to the drive of the Altis (which is more important for car enthusiasts), high ride height, torsion beam rear suspension and that bulky body destroy the driving pleasure (if any) completely. you get body roll, the rear end tends to slip and that feather light eps gives you no road feedback whatsoever. Dont get offended toyota fanboys, its the reality. Corolla since 2002 hasnt offered any driving pleasure in any of its variants.
As for the civic, i hate the fact that honda discontinued the hydraulic power steering. You dont feel that involved while driving it but still it offers some road feedback. you do feel youre in control (a bit) of the car. The drive is no way near the drive of the 8th gen.
My suggestion for Mr. Khan would be to buy a car which you like because at the end of the day its you whose gonna be using it. not me, not anyone from PW. Best of Luck with your purchase, do share some pics.
PS. for all those honda and toyota fans who are imposing themselves on the thread starter, he asked for your suggestion, he didnt ask for you to breath down his neck and buy the car that you like so just suggest. Peace
