Here I come with an unbiased review:
In January I had option of going for brand new Civic or wait 6-7 months and get new Corolla, but as I needed a car soon and had to account for several requirements like fuel economy, comfort and features, I went for Prius, it is the ultimate choice in 2.6 million category, however, one should certainly go for an authentic one and not the ones there at showrooms.
Comparing Civic and Corolla.
A friend owns a 9th Gen Civic. It is a good car BUT the comfort is not as good as 8th Gen, also cabin is quite squishy if you compare it with Corolla which has a very roomy cabin. Roof of Civic is very low and anyone with height of 6 feet, his head is in contact with the roof all the time but with Corolla this is not the case, the roof is of a reasonable height,
Looks of Corolla are obviously better than those of Civic, we are getting the model which got rejected in several countries and a facelift was launched within a year but we did not get that.
If a person does not go to rural areas, he can opt for Civic but if the travelling has to be done on rough roads, Corolla takes the lead in this case. Suspension wise Corolla feels much more comfier than Civic.
The negative point of Corolla is no immobilizer, but a good SteelMate security system takes care of that.
Road grip of both cars can be a debatable topic, however taking account of several 9th Gen Civic crashes taking place, Corolla definitely has an edge over it.
Corolla is a proper family sedan, Civic is suited for bachelors, that is for sure. The look of Corolla is very much formal in comparison of Civic.
Both cars have their pros and cons but in my view, one should either go for Corolla or a JDM vehicle, at least that is what I did and Alhamdulillah very happy with the decision.
I did not discuss about the gadgetry because that is something one can even install on his own.
