Taglon 5w50 (if it really is 5w50 which i highly doubt it is not in true sense) can never perform better in term of fuel consumption and wear protection on an engine which is designed to run on 0w20/5w30 no matter how good it is. There is geometric clearance in mating parts ( for example piston rings and cylinder) which is calculated based on the lubrication regime. For example piston rings are designed to run most of time in hybrid (Elasto hydrodynamic EHL) and full film lubrication on stribeck curve and if you use oil grade 0w16 lower than the designated 0w30 the lubrication regime will change to boundary or dry lubrication resulting in extreme wear and tear. Valve train and cam followers and gear pump teeth operate in dry and hybrid lubrication for avoiding relative motion between two parts and precise movement without slip. If thicker fluid is used in these components then the full fluid film will result in leakage in valves seats. Using thicker lubricant is safe for some components like piston/gudgen pin, crank journals but will result in higher pressure generated in journals than required and retarded flow which in turn will generate more heat. Our country decade old battle tanks engines are using 10w40 which require 20-30 minutes of idling before moving and our dealership insist to use 5w50 or 20w50 in tiny engines of Toyota Corolla.

Music upgrades need dampening as well to give optimal results. A lot if advantages overall as far as the feel is concerned

Bhai i know all this theory and is available on google across multiple sites. I myself used 5w-30 and is still using same. For next oil change, i m planning to goto 5w-50.

All theories fail against practical experiences. 2zrfe performs exceptionally well on 5w-50. I m talking about real world experience interms of mileage. Every single car being driven on 5w-50 gives better mileage and very smooth drive. That said, mine is also fine and there are no issues at 5w-30. Toyota suggests both oils are per manual. Idemitsu is blending 5w-50 for imc and many senior friends use mobil1 5w-50, getting awesome mileage as well.

Manual doesn’t say dont use 50w, and somehow 5w-50 suits this engine very well. I also used taglon in 2018 when i bought car but then switched to 5w-30. That being said, there was nothing wrong even at that time. Every single grande running on 5w-50 is super smooth and fuel efficient alongside reduced engine noise.

Manual says multiple grades so definitely ur engine is designed very flexible. My office cars running on old mineral 20w-50 have zero issues even at 200k . 5w-50 is very different than old 20w-50

Try reading US or Japanese manual where 0w20 is recommended.

Bhai u are new here. Read my old posts. I shared multiple manuals with members so i knw what the manual says. Australian manual suits us more. It says 5w-30 and allows 15w-40 as wellin extreme conditions. In sydney,5w-40 is used by Toyota as tgmo for zr sedan ( same as our grande).

US has cafe standards so recommendations of thinner oil are more political and people know that. Ur indian/Malaysian manuals also suggests 5w-30 till 15w-40.

Japan is extremely tropical fyi. Middle east suggests 5w-30 but 5w-40 is the most sold grade over there

We need to stick to our manual as its pkdm car. 5w-30 is fine and i m using it but 5w-50 works behtreen infact more smoother car and better mileage.

No offense to anybody. All are respected senior members. I am here to learn from knowledgeable and experienced persons.

The car might be Pkdm but its engine is not designed and manufactured in Pakistan. It is the same design all across the world. The ambient outside temperature (whether Saudia Arabia, USA, Japan or Pakistan) is irrelevant to engine whose typical operating temperature is 80-90 C but it is the cooling system/radiator/intercooler which exchanges heat with environment. A lot of JDM imported cars from Japan are still using the same Japanese recommend oil grades 0w20 for years and are not ruined by the harsh environment, pollution, dirty oil of Pakistan. The same 0w20 is recommended in Honda Civic in the Pakistan which has been successfully used for years without any problem.
One more thing why all over the world the CVT fluid is same regardless of environment temperature. Here the logic of extreme temperatures, rush, start stop traffic fails. You put slightly wrong viscosity fluid in CVT and you are done with transmission. The indus motor has misguided people regarding oil grades in manual. Actually the engine is so well designed that it can adopt changes to oil grades but zero margin for CVTF.
I remember we could not find Suzuki cvtf green 2 for wagon R Jdm in Pakistan and suzuki dealership poured Toyota cvtf Tc which has slightly higher viscosity than suzuki cvt green-2. The fuel averge drastically dropped from 18-20 to 10-11 and it never crossed 14 no matter how you drive.
It is endless debate even on international forums.

If engine performs well, i guess its good enough. Like i said i m concluding this based on cars with 150k kms on odo running superbly. Mera pna to apni 5w-30 hi dala hua hai. Anyways manual allows as well

Cvt is always the oem one to use. There are no variations allowed in case of cvt. For engine oil, manual states multiple grades worldwide. There is a lot of difference in cvt and engine oil bhai. I m not forcing anyone to use 5w-50 all my saying iw the real experience is pretty good for many of the members here. Baqi jis ka jo dil keray aur jis per tasali ho. Like since last 3 years im using 5w-30 and i also followed the theories and car is fine as well. However, 5w-50 suits this engine really well

With branded sheet it costed me around 53k for whole car including trunk back plate and 4 doors inside and out outer side

Ground Zero, 3M and some otherS Chinese cost around max 20-22k and provide good results

In my opinion,there isn't much need for these sheets as I have observed cabin of 11th generation corolla is very silent.
