Seeing the increase in dollar price it is likely that the price may increase to 25 lakh... dollar has increased by around 25% since Aug last yr when FL was launched whereas the car's price increased by 10.5%.... So another price hike is anticipated......
Lets hope for the best while being prepared for the worst...

Sometimes you need constant power while driving uphill on a curvy road so you need to restrict your car in that gear. I was driving towards babusar top from chillas in D2 where 80% of the travel needs to be in 1st gear otherwise car lose momentum. So i have to drive my car at around 4k RPM and do not want to shift to 2nd gear.
Like if you are going uphill in manual car in 1st gear and at 4-5k RPM you shift to 2nd gear where you still need 1st gear.

1.6 is no exception. Did you ever drive your 1.6 on steep roads like monal or babusar top? I had the same knowledge before the trip to hunza.

By dashboard you mean the glove box? The aux port is just below the AC controls, why you need to take it out....? Its already present in the front....

D3 and D2 are actually for coming down hill. Making sure that u dont gain any un necessary speed.

I am a frequent visitor to Pir Sohawa, been driving on this road when it was almost no road there from Datsun 120Y to Khyber to 2005 Xli, to 1.6 and now CVT-i. D works great uphill and D3 downhill on a conventional AT and flappy peals on Grande.

I seldom take my cars out of Islamabad so can't say anything about it, but for Pir Sohawa road, right from Margalla Road and up to where road ends D all they way works for me.
