That’s why I hate booking cars , there’s always something happening after spending that much money it’s better to pay little extra own and get it on the spot , at least don’t have to worry about all this stuff .

@autophile yes i was just about to say that the salient features of the proposed bill you shared says the following...

Increase in FED on imported luxury cars / SUVs; and Levy of FED on
local luxury cars / SUVs
Federal Excise Duty is already imposed on imported cars and jeeps of engine
capacity exceeding 1800cc at 20%. In order to further discourage the import
of such luxury cars and jeeps, it is proposed to enhance the rate of Excise
Duty from 20% to 25%, for such cars and jeeps up to capacity 3000 cc and to
30% for cars exceeding 3000 cc. Furthermore, it is proposed to levy Excise
Duty at 10% on locally manufactured / assembled cars and SUVs etcwith
engine capacity exceeding 1800cc

This means Grande price will not be affected or am i reading this wrong? it clearly says local cars "EXCEEDING" 1800cc engine capacity.

I have been arguing on this point lately on the forum. The bill says 1800cc and above, however many folks here said it was revised to 1700cc and above.

Having seen the latest news on Tribune and updated price list on this forum I am gobsmacked.. can't even trust an official govt issued notification.

BTW thank you and the rest of the community to help me decide getting early delivery in February. I just saved few lac rupees.

SPOT ON! any car below 1800cc should not be effected. Price list of a Toyota dealer is circulating, there is still no official word on it.

Government is not completely wrong as the current financial crisis are due to badly governed previous years, we are in debt trap of almost 100 billion dollar moreover american aid is stopped so this situation is unavoidable, but I'm really concerned about the this day to day changing policies at least they should make a plan and keep it for at least one year, this really hearts common people.

Same thing happened to my mom , we bought the car and when we went to register,they told my mom that she was a non filer all of a sudden 🤦‍♂️..so she called her lawyer and he got it resolved in 2 days , so contact a lawyer and you can get that fix .

Hmm. Were tax returns filed late too? Like after 15 Dec 2018

I think last date fell on Saturday/Sunday so date was automatically extended to next working day.
