This is what Toyota Indus Pakistan offical website says about 90% of parts of corolla that they are manufactured locally, so why it is still denominated in dollars in terms of price increase?

Only engine, transmission and some electric parts, glass are imported, rest all manufactured here.

But most of raw materials like metal sheet, plastic resin are imported.

This I heard from CEO of Toyota in a presentation at Competition Commission of Pakistan.

Salam everyone,

I,ve been contemplating on buying a car and having a hard time deciding whether to buy it or not, my obvious choice being grande but can,t seem to make the move because of truck load of reasons such as
Is it the right time? shoud i wait for a newer model if its in the pipeline?
should i buy a gli instead of grande? or maybe a honda civic " having hard time because of hondas ground clearance"
can you guys help me out in deciding whether i should go for it or wait it out?

Bhai shape ia subjective..so from shape's perspective...its ur decision between Grande and Civic. Reasons due to which i skipped civic for Grande were a bit different.

1. Much better build quality...paint(orange peel), weld joints, trunk and bonet lining. Interior dashboard finish.mof material...( Design is again subjective). Eunroof finish..from inside and see it with sunroof open...civic X pkdm has horrible build.

2. Paddle shifters... simulated gear shitts...much better to drive than regular cvts. Civic turbo has the same to transmission so its a grade above 1.8 oriel.

3. More featured..rain sensor/leather interior...better seat padding..rear flat.floor. sound system with tweeters.imported floor mats come standard..same goes for trunk mat. Imported tyres...much better windows glass quality ..if u are lucky to get Sain Gobain. Lights have auto levelling feature. Rear seats are folding.

Civic has electronic handbrake...rear ac vents..as distinct features. The metal and build quality are a big let down..just see the car in detail from finishing perspective....specially ubder the hood/doors and trunk.

Model change will be next year end...if economy stabilizes... with current csr sales.. they are unable to sell Current models..new model will be not feasible to launch

Civic exterior wise is hands down just gorgeous whereas the corolla looks boring.

I just got hands on a Civic X Alhamdolilla and I will agree Corolla has a better build quality. It is also more quiet inside cabin.

But there is simply no comparison between the two when it comes to the overall driving experience. The civic is a clear winner in that department as well.

I also drove civic 1.8 and transmission has no feeling and response, like turbo or Grande gives... simulated gears give conventional feel. I like the civic's armrest position..but seats have less padding..its about qabool soorat achee seerat vs Achi soorat.. back in aug 2018, i waited for 2 extra months to get Grande...as booking times were much longer. Ajkal to aram se available hain both cars. Also at that time..civic had old fashioned headlights.vs bi led projectors

Both cars feel different.

Corolla indeed is better in certain departments than the Civic. No questions about those.

But for the overall experience sadly its not good enough. For example 7 out of 10 people will not choose a Grande because it looks outdated and bland when compared to the Civic.
