toyota 5w30 tin oil is lovely! u could even run it for 8-10k kms. engine remains smooth and gives excellent fuel average even till the end.
on the contrary, with total 5w30 engine is not too smooth, moreover, fuel average starts to deteriorate quite early and one cant run this oil with peace of mind for even 4k kms.
currently i'm running 5w30 total in one of my vehicles (about 1500km driven) and would be replacing it soon.
even kixx 5w30 is far better than this oil (running in our 3rd car).

Tin pack is only available in 4L packing. How will someone manage 4.2L then? Plus which dealership sells that??

I have two friends who just pour 4 liters in their Grandes and their cars are fine, though I dread this idea personally

Sir manual states 4.2l so reducing 200ml is a blunder to me. Corolla is dheet...m sure it can even run few thousand miles with anything lubricating actually. Tin pack acha bhi ho to 1L nhn miltaa

Almost everyone seems to be using 5w30 in their corolla's.
Last month when I went for my first oil change, the 3s poured Taglon's 5w50 oil.
Is it okay as most of my friends & relatives were saying that next time use 5w30.

yeah I know have to stick with the warranty I'm just talking about the oil grade i.e. 5w50
is it okay because i've noticed that fuel average has dropped significantly after oil change

5w-30 ofcourse but I did nt find any issue with mileage..m also using taglon. Smoothness could be better with better oil

My average has fallen from 11.5kmpl within city to 8-9kmpl within city
Before oil change I went to Hyderabad via Motorway from Karachi and the average I got was 16.5-18kmpl whereas at the start of this month we went a bit north towards Abbotabad from Karachi and it didn't gave me more than 13.1kmpl even on Lahore-Islamabad motorway

G m using taglon as i cannot loose warranty so early. Of warranty would not be the issue, I won't even touch taglon. mileage has been excellent for me..no issues

This taglon chokes cat con badly. It chocked my grande 2018 cat con under 40k kms. Also my gli which is driven 65k totally on Toyota Petron Plus 10W30 has choked cat con. These toyota oils are just cheap mineral oils meant to be run under 5000kms and they choke cat cons badly, also not effective to clean the engine deposits.

how can engine oil choke a cat con????? i mean unless your engine is burning oil there is no relation between cat con and engine oil..

They are giving 100k warranty... cat choking is not with taglon

Cat chokes because of using inferior engine oil and fuel. We can’t do anything about fuel, but rather use good quality fully synthetic oils which donot damage the cat. Total Quartz 9000 is one of them then LM or Mobil 1.
