Ambient temperature/Weather has got absolutely nothing to do with what oil you use in your car.

If the manufacturer recommends 0w20 it doesnt matter then if youre on the North pole or the Arizona desert.
The operating temperature of an engine stays fairly constant irrespective of the outside temperature.

Different grades are recommended by manufacturers depending upon ease of availability.

I dont know how many years it will take Pakistanis to get over this fact.

I have been there for oil changes 3 times. Stayed in the service area and got the things done myself. They never asked to leave the service area.

Thats really absurd of them to ask a car's owner to go away. You should have complained to the customer relations officer.

Never ever leave your vehicle. Should get the things done in front of u upto your satisfaction.

Urban myth dear nothing else. All technical data and comparison charts show 0w-20 oil is better and safe, but still our awam, naheen yeah buhat patla ha, naheen yeah sirf hybrid kay liay hay ya start stop wali 660 engines kay liay ha.

As well as white cars are concerned its very tricky to apply correct wax. first thing you must remember that best company in the world for detailing is Chemical guys. I used so many waxes and related products for my white cars from many years. White Light Glaze (Chemical Guys) is the most appropriate and best solution for white car.after applying this you may cover it by chemical Guys 50/50. This is summer solution because you need to protect paint from UVR also.your paint will always remain shiny,glossy and in original condition. For WINTER collinite 845 is the best.
PROCESS:
1. Wash the car completely using good quality car wash shampoo.
2. Remove contamination if any.
3. Apply white light glaze in closed area not in open area, Softly remove /buff not in circular motion.
4. Apply chemical guys 50/50 paste over it and buff it completely.
5. Use only high quality micro fiber towels.

You dont know more than the manufacturers. There is no reason to apply ow in Pakistani environment. 5w is the best.

Whats so special in Pakistan? I mean do we have different oxygen than rest of the world Engines are same..their model and generation is same.. Temps are sometimes lower than US, if not always.. Outside temp has nothing to do with oil grade, as engine always has higher temperature.

When we say.."Pakistani Environment" , what exactly is the logic...i need to enlighten myself here.

First enhance your knowledge regarding OW & 5W , What does it Mean ?

if u can review your knowledge that would be even better sir. 0w/5W will only be related with cold start, and in Pakistan, that doesn't matter. Number after W is the viscosity and has ZERO relation with outside temp. 5W-20 is not readily available, so i was focused on 0w-20. This 20,30 etc is not the temperature scale sir g. So if i use 0w or 5W, it makes no difference to me, because i will not be seeing sub zero temp but if something is readily available, why not use that., No tell whats special in Pakistani air?

The numbers represent the viscosity of the oil and the W stands for WINTER.The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) has established a numerical code system for grading motor oils according to their viscosity characteristics. Because the viscosity of oil changes with temperature, multigrade oils were developed to provide protection across a range of temperatures. oils such as SAE 5W-30 is widely used because, under all but extremely hot or cold conditions, its thin enough to flow at low temperatures and thick enough to perform satisfactorily at high temperatures. 0w 20 is used only in environment where there is a risk of oil freezing. In Pakistan there is no risk of oil freezing. SO why 0w, It is used in very cold areas.

If an engine is specd at 0w-20 it means it means maximum viscosity of 20, so if the outside temperature becomes meaningless here., 5W-20 is not readily available. 0W-20 is normally very stable as most companies are using quality synthetic base.

Being an environmental expert / 15 years chemical experience what i concluded 5w30 is best oil grade. which improves 1) Engine sound 2) Smooth Drive 3) Improved mileage. with 0w 20 i did not achieve desired result. It was my research. I respect your experience and your research. Again i will use 0w20 in my other car and will analysis the results with the bird eye and i will share with you.

I respect your experience too sir. The problem here is if an engine is specd at 5w-30, 0w-30 can be used but 30 must be there, These toyota engines are pretty common in almost all countries and have 20 as recommended viscosity. Not to mention, IMC is putting 5w-50..and they are idiots by all standards...even if we debate on 0w-20 or 5w-30..they use 5w-50
