If IMC can introduce CVT in a compact sedan like Yaris then why couldn't they equip one in the 1.6 Altis Corolla? They could still do it or were they afraid 1.6 would cannibalize sales from the top variant Grande?
Is it because of the passage of time where they got to practice with Grandeās CVT and ensured that they can deal with the CVTs and therefore brought Yaris with the confidence that it can do well with the CVT?
I believe, in the current Yaris lineup, there's no automatic, right? So no automatic, which is nice as it will make the car economical.
However, it outrageous that they paired 1.6 Altis Corolla with an old 4-speed gas-guzzling auto? 1.6 is not a car for short trips.
