I can totally understand what you are saying..

Just out of my experience I have seen CVTs on Nissan cars looong before CVTs were table talk in Pakistan.
As a technology.. the gearbox is smoother than auto transmission and in terms of longevity lasts upto 500/600k kms.

Perhaps Honda CVT might be facing issues as faced by your cousin.. but CVT in general is here to stay and going stronger..

In the end, manual gari chalane ka jo maza hey..... now thats a complete different topic.

AoA guys. I own a 2019 Altis 1.6. About 12k driven. Today during a random look at the engine, found something unusual in the fan belt. At two locations, observed threads protruding out of the outer surface. Seemed it was only on the surface. No unusual sound while engine idling. I don't think it could b a constant rubbing, otherwise there should have been a continuous mark over the whole length of belt. Sharing pics as well. Tell me how bad it seems. Thinking of getting it checked from dealer under warranty once lockdown finishes. Any idea if all dealers open or only selected ones?

If budget is not a constraint, go for manual Grande as you will get traction control, climate control in it which is not available in simple 1.8. But you will have to drive it carefully and the only precaution is not to ride on clutch as this six forward transmission is sensitive to it and I have heard some cases of early transmission troubles because people drove it with their foot on the clutch. Rest it is a great 6-speed gearbox with 1.8 power.

Go for 1.8 manual.. Grande or not Grande that's totally your call depending on your budget.

Hn practise ho gai hui ha ab tou... mera aik driver tha usko b adat thi clutch pr pao rkhny ki but i’ll be carefull.. climate control, traction control, sunroof etc ka difference agr dekhen 1.8 simple wali sy tou kia 3-4 lakhs extra pay kr k grande trf jana chaiye??
Ar traction control ki level tk helpful ha drive me difference ha traction ar without traction k ??

Well if budget allows go for Grande. Otherwise 1.8 manual is ok. Yes traction control adds to safety.

Its ok next time use 5W30 Total Quartz fully synthetic.
