Number of kms/mileage majorly determines age of an oil as compared to the number of months its sitting in the engine. Oils do degrade over time but I would not bother with a fully synthetic oil before a year.

Some manufacturers do recommend oil change intervals as xxxxxx kms/miles or upto a year.

Engine oils are seriously misunderstood in Pakistan. They have evolved alot from the mineral oil era.

Mobil1 states 1 year/ 10000 miles. Talking about total, despite being a very good oil, i dont think we should keep it in engine for a year. 6 months are good enough..infact amosil XL states 6 months period as well, and it's similar to total quartz 9000 in blending.

Change at 6 months for peace of mind. But a longer interval with full synthetic oil will not hurt.

I am guessing a group 3 or a blend of group 3 and 4 base oils. Usually you will see words like "Extended drain interval" or "Long drain interval" or "100% synthetic oil" on engine oils with PAO and Ester base oil stocks for eg. the normal Mobil 1 synthetics are group 3 while the Mobil 1 Extended Performance are group IV base stocks.

Legally, all group III, IV and V oils can be labeled as fully synthetics.

When going to a service station to get the undercarriage and tires cleaned, do the workers apply some sort of shampoo/cleaner/surf to agitate and remove the dirt?
And is it safe for the rubber panels of the bushes, etc for the ’surf’ to be applied to? Would I possibly hear squeaking from the suspension or something? Just a wild thought.

Yes shampoo../cleaners are fine.. Don't use diesel spray. I keep my car's undercarriage as clean as new but just using regular shampoo spray and cleaning via pressure washer

If you have a coated car that surf will strip down all the wax from the car. Good if you want to prep the car from scratch for a new coating, bad if you are doing a maintenance wash.

Also, it is perfectly safe to have a clean and 'dry to touch' undercarriage with no diesel or any other motor oil applied to them. That is how they come from the factory and that is how you should keep them. In fact, the diesel would eat away the rubber bushes.

The one I have looks like this. I bought it from overseas so it has a different brand name on it but looks exactly like this one.

I've personally used it to fill the tires of : new corolla, civic, jdm alto, hijet, fortuner and city. So its perfectly safe to say its adequate for all cars available here.
