Toyota Corolla GLI 1.3 A/T 2015 model Transmission Jerk Issue

Hi friends,

I have toyota corolla gli 1.3 automatic, 2015 model. I feel jerk generally when the car shifts from 3rd to 4th gear. The RPM goes to 30k and then once the gear changes it rapidly goes down to 1.9-20k. I tried to have it checked by toyota, they couldnt find any error code, took a road test also but at that time the issue didnt arise again. But this is persistent and very annoying. ATF is T-IV, got it changed just 15k before. Throttle body, fuel pump, plug and injectors all got services 3k back.

Can anyone please guide me what can I do?

There is a good news and there is a bad news.

Bad news is this gear has got damaged from inside that’s why its struggling to shift in the highest gear.

Good news is that its Repairable.

In such cases its advised to DO NOT DRIVE IT IN HIGHEST GEAR. Shift the gear leaver in D3 and keep driving with light foot.
Don’t rev up.

Well this is my guess about the situation. There can be another reason for that too.

When we open the transmission, its combination of many many small gears. Seems some of those gears are partially worn-out or damaged or something which is causing such reaction.

In this condition if it can be risky to keep driving the vehicle specially at higher speeds otherwise it can bring bigger damage to the whole transmission.

Brother do you remember the colour of transmission fluid when it was replaced because if fluid was slightly darker tint with original fluid colour then you could save your transmission by getting it checked by professional mechanic not jugari like karachi mechanics karachi mechanics are failed to diagnose those they have one one solution that is repair and to empty your pockets.
If the color of last fluid was dard and hint of original fluid color then chances are your transmission’s internal are severely worn out need replacement.
I would suggest to get the solenoid valves in valve body then proceed for repairs.

Honestly i was also thinking that i wrote very direct message like full confidence without using the words like I Guess, i think, i wonder, i foresee, maybe, etc.

Whatever bro. But praying for him that he get some legit mechanics knows how to deal with this problem and repairs because I have already faced an issue of TCC not engaging after gear overhauling and the guy who repaired it have no idea why it’s not engaging at some point he said it takes to engage I told him that I travelled 500 kms yet not engaged was wondering why it hasn’t and the guy can’t even help with that issue.
After that Issue visit almost 4 more guys who into gear overhauling were out of ideas about the issue then I got know that how NALAIK these mechanics are.

Check fluid level. If it's low, it can cause this type of issue. If not and it looks in good shape, it will need to be disassembled and inspected. I would always want to ensure all wiring etc. is in good shape.

Gear technical issues are even more complex than other mechanical issues.
Once I see a person repairing the gear for v8 LC. It was 2014-15 model and according to owner it’s opened 4th time in last one year.
His issue was whenever jeep runs on straight roads and highways it behaves normal.
But when it’s taken to mountains (upward drive or slope), the gear dies and jeep stops moving.
He even once changed the whole gear to kabuli. But problem didn’t solve. The owner was very desperate and was willing to sell the jeep at low price. But luckily his problem was solved by an electrician. Some wire in the grip was loose which he fixed and jeep start behaving normally.

Now imagine the the amount of money his owner served on this gear repairs 🤷🏻‍♂️ he even changed the whole ducking gear. And when he found it was an electrical issue, he was mourning very seriously about his few decisions.

Thank you so much for your response bro. I got it checked yesterday from Zahid Auto Transmission Repair on Queens Road. He said that the issue is in clutch plates and they are unable to make the required pressure. So he said that he will change the clutch plates and it will work just fine. Can you please refer me to someone please, I just want to get a second opinion before getting it fixed.
