Toyota Corolla GLI 1.3L E140 Limited Edition Suspension Work

Rear shock absorbers are in bad shape.
The car is hitting every single speed breaker with 4 passengers.
Got Z links changed about a month ago as they started to make noise.
Car is not smooth as it was back when my father was using it, If you apply breaks at 100KMH or more, the steering wheels starts to vibrate. Multiple issues are there and according to my knowledge most of them are suspension based.

This car is running on company fitted suspension from past 8 years, it is not even repainted. Whole car is in genuine stock condition. I want to get its suspension maintained. I saw Suneel Manj's video, the video was about his Honda Civic Rebirth 2012. He supported getting brand new suspension parts from market instead of "Qabli Parts".
If I jump into Pakistani Desi Car community, they support "Qabli Parts."

I want help in understanding the pros and cons of Qabli and New parts. What should I choose?

I am new to this and I have a very basic knowledge of everything, I am a beginner and looking forward to learn from Practicals and Theories of this Respected Car Community.

The steering vibration could be the brake rotors need tooling.New suspension parts of corolla are available in the market.Kabli is good also if it's condition is good and not repaired parts.

What if I go with New Parts?
Can they perform as good as Qabli?
Will I be able to get the drive quality that original parts provide?

Personally, I do not want to go with used Qabli parts as used stuff is used stuff but If they are better than new then why not?

All wear and tear parts should be replaced with new parts.

Local or Chinese or even Japanese or Thai parts.

Only solid parts should be replaced with Qabli parts.

Shock absorbers, Brakes, Zlink, bushes everything has wear and tear. Get brand new and trouble free 3 years.

Thanks, any idea how much it will cost to have whole suspension maintained?

I have seen some senior car people "including Suneel Manj" saying that when 1 part of suspension starts to cause issue, you should change the whole suspension so no bad seed remains behind.

How much should I keep in my pocket to get my Corolla trouble free and smooth "suspension wise" for 2 to 3 years?

If u replace whole suspension just because of one part and other parts are fine then it's just wasting money

Car has been running on genuine suspension for 8 years, that a really long time.
I do not think that it will go any further as car is already hitting every speed breaker with 4 passengers.

Z links are already changed. Soon the suspension will start to fail one part after one part.
Getting it replaced one by one will cost me more $ and time. Isn't it wise to get all suspension maintained at once?

First of All you find a good and honest machenic and check your car suspension from him then he suggest you all good work and parts. Have you a good machenic???

Yes, got a mechanic.
The one who changed the Z links
He has repaired the other stuff too, like AC, radiator fan etc. (Small work mainly).
Satisfied so far with the work he has done to my car.

He asked me to get the suspension maintained. I did not ask for an estimate as I was running late for my work. He has checked the suspension and he suggested to get the parts replaced with Qabli parts . Since then, I have been trying to gain information on "what parts to use?" and "what to do with the suspension work?".

Mainly looking for pros and cons of Qabli and New parts + estimation.
Because I will go to market and buy the parts.

Around 50k for new parts which includes new shock absorbers, control arms bushes, rack end/tie rods/ball joint and miscellaneous parts like bushes and boots.
look up prices on pakwheels parts store you can get an idea regarding prices.

Buying kabli suspension parts is not a wise decision as they are usually at the end of their life and dont last long.
The wheel vibration could be due to brake rotors being warped or uneven usually having them tooled/polished and a fresh set of brake pads will fix them.

The only thing you can use kabuli is Gatri/ Cross chamber that too if you find a non rusted one.

Suspension also needs steering bushes, Steering rack replacement at times.

You I think should go one by one.

Agri autos shock absorbers are around 10k for rear and 12 to 15k for front.

Check disc's if they are able to polish else get new ones or if you can find better condition used Qabuli.

Still check if you can find brand new ones in less price that would be better in my opinion.

Then look for control arms/Keinchiyan mostly control arm bushes/ keinchy ke bush is all you need.

Even if replacing full control arms corolla parts are not very expensive.

You can a idea of spare parts from pakwheels spare parts.

Better if you discus with your mechanic to give you a list of parts and you purchase them.

You can deal with your mechanic for labour only.

The secret for long lasting suspension repair on any car is to follow the basic concept of installing rubber bushings. When the control arm bushings or the rollbar bushings are replaced with new parts, the car needs to be sitting on the ground with loose bolts and rolled back and forth a bit then everything is torqued down.

If you cannot use a lift then use "ramps" to drive the car on them while every bushing bolt is loose and then torque it down as it sits naturally. This arrests the bushings in neutral state and the bushings only work as the suspension moves up and down.

If you tighten it with wheels removed and car on jacks the bushings will be in torsion and will fail in a week or month at max and the car will drive like a trashcan too.

for parts, only buy new proven quality parts - inspect them to see if they require greasing, e.g. 555-sankei balljoints come in 2 kinds for corolla, one is a sealed part and one has a tiny bolt on it, that tiny bolt denotes that the part is greasable and only has petroleum jelly inside it for shipping/storage purpose. The mechanics job is to install a zerk and pump it full of the correct kind of grease.

To install rollbar bushings on any car, you need to see the correct height first by inspecting the angle at rest (measure from something as reference)

Disconnect both linkages and tighten bar at that angle? Then connect the linkages by prying them into position.

And when installing any plain rubber bushing into a metal case, use soap only or a specific tire mounting lubricant, using grease damages the bushings almost immediately and also pay attention to how the bushings are clocked in the bore. They make a massive difference in how the suspension behaves.
