Toyota Corolla GLI 1.6 2014 Model - No Gear Signs and Eco mode on Meter

Dear All, Assalam o Alaikum,

I have recently purchased Corolla GLI 1.6 A/T 2014 Model, but I have noticed that there is no eco sign on Meter even when I switch on the car it doesn't work secondly there is no shifting of Gear Signs like D, S, N, R on right odo meter. It only tells Trip A and Trip B.

Any Expert can advise what could be the issue. As the A/C and Cigrete Lighter also suddenly stopped working.

Drive is smooth and there is no issues in gear shifting and transmission but why it doesnt reflect the current gear mode on meter.

Please Advise.

Share a picture of the meter. Most probably your cars meter is changed.

Cud be issue with speedocluster or wiring issue, may be confirmed with active test by scanner (if car supports respective function)

Meters looks like changed with manual gli/xli.

I took it to mechanic, he used his computer and reset it so it came to normal now i am getting gears indication on meter. One more thing i am not getting is when I turn on the eco mode from odo meter i drove my car almost 50km in city on mix traffic conditions but eco light didnt showed for a second.

What should be the issue?

I guess eco light comes on between 2000-3000 rpms.

This model of Corolla doesn't has a eco mode. Just a eco zone (between 2000/3000 rpms). It comes on when you are driving in that range.

The meter seemed okay because the odo meter display is bigger then the one that comes in manual Gli. I'm glad resetting fixed your issue

Dear Brother,

From where it can be confirmed, i am hardly getting 8kmpl with full ac in traffic conditions. I purchased this car with so many positive reviews regarding good mileage. Pakwheels owner reviews says it does easy 10-11kmpl in city with AC.

Pickup is fine so i dont think i need the cat converter cleaning.

If possible try to make a video. If eco light comes on between 2000/3000 rpms.

Fuel average in traffic conditions is okay between 8 to 10 kmpl.

Ideally it should manage 10 to 12 kmpl.

Good spark plugs, basic tuning, fresh engine oil minimum 10W30.

Which engine oil is preferred, previously I was using Total Quartz 3000 20w50 for my city vario.

Secondly, i drove in bw 2000/3000 still no eco light appeared

You won't get the mileage you desire with 20w50 oil in corolla

get your car checked. Maybe the meter of your car is swapped or tampered. Earlier you had to reset it for gear position indicator.

If your cars engine is healthy 5W40 is good. Else 10W30 Caltex Havoline should be an ideal oil. 20W50 is for old engines or unhealthy engines that decrease oil

OK, will get the meter checked but Eco Sign with turned off can be seen in daylight. So what the hell should be the issue if each and everything is on right place even I can turn on and off eco mode in odo meter. Desperately driving in every condition just to see the eco light turn on.

What if meter is tempered, no one can tell the original mileage. One thing I feel is on lower gears on D mode I feel vibration on steering like my car is doing some sort of belly dance (like suspension swinging a little) and then it becomes normal. Currently 65K driven. What gradeoil you seniors would suggest considering this doubtful meter reading.

If you can manage to turn on the eco light at certain speeds or rpms. Then its okay. Having a blank eco light in the meter means nothing. Their is a blank airbag sign to. But your car doesn't has a airbag

No dear, eco light is blank, its been week i am driving this car but it never turned on.

Is it possible that the eco light is faulty, my car is working on eco mode, is there another way?

Sir their is no eco mode in your car. Just a eco zone. Try contacting the same person who resetted the meter for gear indicator. He should be able to help you.

Bhaiya, main ne uss se pucha toh woh bhai keh rahay hain apki gari eco zone par jati hai apko pata nahi lagta hoga. eco light on ho ya na ho.... Ab unhon ne toh baat hi khatam kardi.

Well, will find another one. Please advise best Transmission oil for GLI 1.6 AT 2014 and how many litres should I buy?
