Dear all Pakwheelers I hope you all are fit and well I need advice as I am thinking to get the tappets adjust on our Toyota Corolla Gli 2010 which is very well taken care of the engine is sealed was never opened even the intake the car is on 117k km so should the tappets be adjusted and how expensive will it be and will the engine be opened that can screw it like compression,resale value etc and what will be the process we had done oil changes at 3k using Havoline 20w 50 along with oil and air filter so should they be adjusted

Engine is not opened when you adjust the tappets, only the tappet cover is opened.... It will cost max 2k... As engine will not be opened there will be no issues regarding compression as well as resale value... as mentioned above only tappet cover will be opened and they will be adjusted using feeler gauge... Why are you using sooooo much thick oil??? no need to change the air filter so much early... they should be adjusted....

Why you want to adjust tappets? Which issues you are facing. I think tappet adjustment is not a regular maintenance item for this 2nzfe engine. @Xulfiqar @capsat can guide us better.

This engine doesn't has adjustable tappets. It has hydraulics. They need to be grinded or shaved that too incase your car has cng.

Else it is not required. My father's 196,000 driven hasn't needed them.

Since you mentioned, intake has also not been opened, get it checked if needed get throttle body serviced. And cleared of carbon deposits.

hydraulics are commonly known as dabbo and shims are available but the mechanic has to have correct tools for such precision work.. and a reason to do such shim placement.

Havoline 20w 50 along

5W-30 or 10W-40 is good, though 20W-50 is also mentioned in user manual (which i believe is plain copy paste printing from old school user manuals).

get compression test done before you plan some adventure on recommendation of tin box mechanic.

PCV valve shall be checked as well.

Sir I belong from Hyderabad Sindh here we replaced the air filter so so early because of dusty situations here even after 3k because of so much dust here it looks almost black-brownish and so fragile like it's gonna tear up whether you are using Genuine Toyota's air filter or lipppons. So because of the dusty situation here we have to replace it at 3k.
As for oil 20w50 is available while 10w is not even when you ask the shop keeper they will tell you:
SAHAB JI 10W SHAAT HAI AP 20W LAY LOU!.
So that's why we have to use it but now since pakwheels auto-store gives an incredible service I'll buy it from there insha'Allah

No issue as such it runs and drives great Allhamdulilah but now it's 12 yrs old allhamdulilah and it has never been done with it so should it be?
As we also had a cultus back then so it had done with tappets almost every year but not GLI so should I get it done or leave it as is?
And I also don't want any troubles....

No it doesn't has CNG it's only been driven on petrol.
So there's no need for it? Just oil change along with filters and wheel Balancing are enough?
As the owner's manual doesn't gives so hint.
Also spark plugs are also replaced too after every two years or 10k kms

Compression is great Allhamdulilah I did get it done no problems with anything am just being curious as what should be done to make it more reliable as it's now on 125k and owner's manual doesn't gives any information it just says take your car to Toyota's dealer.

Yes, I don't think wheel Balancing is required as a schedule maintenance.
