Toyota Corolla Gli Auto 2018 (Top End problem)

Hello Brothers. I have a Toyota Corolla 1.3 Gli Auto 2018. It is only driven 18K. My car fails to go beyond 120 Km/h. Can anyone diagnose the problem? What should be done? Is it Fuel Pump issue or Catalytaic Converter?

Have you got the fuel pump of your GLi checked?

I think it's the issue of the fuel pump but I'm not sure though. Call Indus Motors or your nearest 3S Dealership to check that whether your GLi's Chassis falls in the category of Free Fuel Pump replacement launched by Toyota Indus Motors. If yes, then book an appointment with them and go get it changed for Free.

Don't worry, if your car has a faulty fuel pump and it's under active warranty, then you can also get it replaced with no additional charge.

TBH it’s not a fuel pump issue. The main issue is that it’s extremely underpowered and on top of that it’s an Auto. Trust me I’ve driven it from multan to Lahore. You’ve to give a bit more than usual to the gas pedal to take it to 140 or above.

It goes upto 160 easily with full load and till 180 with less load

With full load you cant even maintain 120 on motorway. Unless you push the pedal and accelerate in 3rd gear till 120 and then cruise on 4th gear. You have to repeat this process again and again to maintain 120 on motorway if car is fully loaded.

Yes it's an underpowered car. Well, Honda City 1.3 automatic has a powerful engine and smaller in size and is a better car to drive as compared to Corolla Gli automatic.

I bet that it goes upto 170 km/hr with full load without any problem. Upto 160 easily and ontoward180 it takes a bit time. On 120 km/hr it retain easily no issue . Rest of the rumours are only Bughze Corolla nothing else.
Otherwise I may say city trembles on 100 when any bus passes by

Are you talking about manual or auto? Bro i shared my personal experience, i have 2017 GLI Auto and i am sharing my experience based on trips which include lahore to nathia gali, lahore to hunza

Been driving gli auto for the past 3 years and only issue with this car is when you need to do overtake on highways.... that is the pain in arse other than that its good car.... regarding speed as you mention never experienced that on motorway.... it easily goes to 140 and beyond...

There is no doubt that Gli Auto is underpowered (what you expect a big chassis on a 87hp engine coupled with ancient 4 speed AT). However still there is no way or reason that car can't touch 170. As some gentleman already mentioned get your fuel pump and cat converter checked.

Plugs issue,throttle not cleared, etc.
In 1300 cc this engine is most powerful even I v seen ppl loading buffaloes in it on back seat ousted in villages.
Corolla 1300 ko full load krain 6 persons n riv it no big difference. Ye kisi or gari 1300 ma krka daikhain will surely go sluggish.
Rest I'm not biased as I have used all brands of Honda suzuki n Toyota.
