Dear All,
Title suggests all. But I would like to brief you about the dilemma behind first.
Currently I own a very old Corolla as one of my cars. I am planning to switch it with new one, considering the price hike is not stopping and I am afraid in future when the Corolla XLI reaches 5 MN mark in a couple of years, I won’t be able to purchase one at all. I buy cars and then keep them for good 10 years easily.
My total budget is 24 lacs. However I can stretch a couple of lacs easily if I get a very good deal. Currently I am in market looking for a manual GLI (my current one is manual GLI as well). Preferably I would want a very less driven white GLI manual, however, the sellers on the car selling ads have gone absolutely blind with their crazy pricing to the extent that if I add 1 lac to their price, I would easily get a brand new GLI 2020. But then the problem arises that investing 28.5 lacs in getting a manual GLI without the goodies like Altis has, sounds a bad deal to me.
So if I am shelling out 28+ lacs, my friend suggest me to go for a very less driven Altis 2018.
My biggest concern is the average it is going to give. Mostly reviews show the Altis 1.6 gives much better avg than a Gli.
However, when I talk to the Altis 1.6 owners (people who own altis 1.6 in my friends circle and colleagues), they tell me the fuel avg is bizzare on Altis 1.6. Even a seller I got from PW, he was fuming about the average situation on Altis. Said it, never increased from 9. Its always between 8.5 to 9. And if you stay 15 min in parking with AC on, it drops to 6.5
I am really confused and need advice. Pls suggest.
P.S: Some people I met have told me it is very difficult to sell Altis when new shape arives. As this is car for shoqeen people and such peiople prefer latest shape on their Altis. However, with XLI and GLI, any taxi driver will buy that in mere hours.
Sorry for long post. I am buying a car after so long, I need guidance.
