Hello, hope everyone is doing good in the time of uncertainty and chaos.
I have an 18 model grande and I have two problems with it.
The first one is quite a major one and it’s because of negligence on my part.I got the car brand new about 2 years ago ever since I bought it was maintained by my driver who I recently fired and when i did i found out he had been putting a sub standard zic engine oil in the car, furthermore he wasn’t even aware what grade he was using, he just knew it was good from 6-7000 kms. I want to change the car to another oil as its average barely rises over 11km/l even with good easy driving. What grade and oil do you recommend i should shift the car too and would that cause any problems.
The second problem is a minor one, the cars mirrors stopped folding upon locking a few weeks ago, they do retract when i press the button inside of the car. Is there an easy fix for that i can do at home or should i just take it to the dealership.

What is the mileage of your vehicle?. It is possible a thicker engine oil was used. You could switch to 0W20 grade oil of Toyota or any other reliable brand of your choice.

for sure he was using some synthetic oil. which was good enough. Sad to know you have fired your driver baba. getting average of 11km/l in city is not bad tho.

keep using zic oil but with the right grade oil. Ask your driver from where he was geting the oil work. if you dont have the history the oil shop person might know which oil your driver was using in the car.

First of all brother, ZIC is not sub-standard! Provided you buy it 100% genuine and original, and engine is also healthy and in good condition. Yes, if engine oil grade / viscosity does not suit and you pour non-recommended engine oil grade in the car, and problems start, then its not the fault of ZIC.

I have been a regular customer of ZIC, and no complaints regarding it so far. AL HAM DU LILLAH.

Now that's the main issue and big concern.

Any fully synthetic, premium category, like "TOP" Series (most expensive in the current series, available locally here), and then "X9" series may be good for 6-7,000 Kms, but does not mean that its engine oil grade is also recommended for your car.

If you are gonna pour ZIC TOP 0w-40 in Corolla (where 5w-30, 10w-30 are the recommended engine oil grades), then even its premium, fully synthetic oil, good for 6-7,000 Kms, but will not be suitable for Corolla, and may misbehave.

On paper 10w-30 and 0w-40 may not make much difference, as far as Kinematic Viscosity is concerned, but in reality and practically, there is lots of difference.

There are reasons that engine oil grades are the criteria, and not the kinematic viscosity at 40 Celsius and 100 Celsius'

There might be something wrong with the motors, or flow of current is not proper.

For this, you may either visit dealership, or any good mechanic / garage in your locality, who do professional work.

What grade and oil do you recommend i should shift the car too

IMO, Total Quartz 9000 Future Series 5w-30, would be best suited for your car and its best value for money.

Just change oil after regular intervals.

Auto retraction option in grande of side view mirrors can be disabled from side view mirrors control buttons. if they are working fine otherwise then read your cars owners manual to enable the auto retraction function.
