Salam to all.
I have read all the conversation of respected members of this group on the Topic of Idling issues faced by @haroon47.
I am facing the same issue since more than a month. I have Corolla SE Saloon Auto 2004. Need an expert opinion/help for its resolution as I am completely frustrated by visiting 5 mechanics/car electricians in Lahore. None of them have been able to resolve it.
Main Problem:
The RPM of the car fluctuates when the car is in Idle position. Observed this behavior only when the car is in "P" or "N" mode and sometimes in Reverse Mode. The RPM needle of the car fluctuates and tries to sustain itself at a fixed position but could not. As a result the car mostly Turns Itself Off as the RPM couldn't be maintained.
What i have done so far to diagnose it:
- Used OBD on scanner to diagnose but no codes have been generated.
- I have changed the Complete Throttle Body as the previous one has air space/on its butterfly cap.
- Changed the coils and spark plugs
- Changed the MAF Sensor.
- Electrician has adjusted the Choke settings of the new (kabuli) throttle body and RPM also. Cleaned the IAC valve too.
- Adjusted the sensor settings of the Throttle body as well.
- Repaired the pipes coming to main engine unit from throttle body through which the engine was taking excess air intake.
Result:
- The RPM of the car now less fluctuates. Still it fluctuates on N and P and not on D mode.
- The car doesn't off shuts itself with Low RPM unlike the previous condition but RPM still fluctuates.
- This behavior is now observed for the first 10 to fifteen minutes of driving. after that the RPM not fluctuates. (When the car is normally heated).
Now:
I am completely fed up with all the methods mechanics have tried so far as none of them have been able to correctly diagnose it. All the people, i have met, have tried their own methods to their best ability. The car drives correctly for 2 to 3 hrs and again shows the above mentioned behavior after few hours.
I was searching for the possible solutions to this problem on internet and found this thread.
I hope people here would help/ advise me what should i do now by reading all the above points.
* Note: if someone can help me to reach out a best (i mean the most experienced one) not a mechanic with Hit and Try Approach,
It would be greatly helpful for me.
