Aoa everyone, In June 2022, i purchased a second hand Toyota Corolla XLI 2007 (130000 mileage), owner told me he was using Havoline 1040 in engine, after purchasing i changed the engine oil, but mistakenly i got Havoline 1030 but veh was running as usual nothing happened. On 3000, i again wanted to change oil but could not find Havoline 1040 in market and also was told by many oil dealers that Havoline 1040 doesn't come so i checked previous can, it was 1030 so i decided to go for ZIC 1040 fully synthetic .. everything was fine ... I also had trip from Sialkot to Multan and back, no problem was occured, after i month of fuel change and of 1800 mileage, i noticed engine vibration, and engine noise, i went to mechanic he checked and told me; engine was blowing up smoke from engine oil inlet, seemed engine oil was mixed with water, there was noise of crankshaft, there was blackened interior of exaust... He told me i have to get my head and assembly changed as engine is done and dusted... I checked with ZIC and found out ZIC 1040 fully synthetic which i used was actually not genuine product.
I changed oil , Kixx 2050 AP SI, for one week i observed, no water mixed up with engine oil, no water level drop in radiator, engine noise suddenly decreased 90% and it is also getting to original sound day by day... Then i again went to another mechanic for engine check up, he told me engine was totally fine, it was due to bad engine oil and i timely took action changing oil so there was no need to worry for changing engine head and assembly... And also instructed me change next oil after 1000 for once ...
Please guide me, should i be concerned about engine...
