Ok so I am back after some time 🥲, Since this model corolla (XLI, GLI) doesn't come with engine covers from factory. I decided to install one. Got the engine cover from Plaza market and realized that stock one is boring. Since I am making my corolla unique so the engine cover should be unique and oem type looking as well
I have always liked the engine cover of 2GR-FE (Silver painted) so decided to paint mine as well.
Did a proper 3 stage painting process on the cover to make it look like oem and reliable.
Paint I used is Win brand thailand made. Undercoat silver and Deep red aling with clear coat.

First stage after through cleaning and sanding with 1500grit sandpaper.
Second stage is 2 coats of paint with 15 mins gap and final stage is the clear coat. I also painted the letters with deep red color to make it cool looking.

Final result with a proper engine detailing session done

Hi everyone.
I have GLi 2007. Currently it has its stock steering wheel (03 spoke). It was in my wishlist to install 04 spoke that came in Altis & SE Saloon (without multimedia buttons) and I eventually managed to source one from Peshawar.
Now coming to the main query, I’ve heard its required to install chakri/spiral cable/clockspring for the 04 spoke steering to be swapped with the GLi stock 03 spoke steering.
Can anyone here confirm me if its true or it can be installed without the chakri too?

You will need the oem clockspring even for the normal 4 spoke one. I wanted to install multimedia one too but seems a bit expensive at the moment (18-20k).

Yes I also sourced the clockspring just yesterday.

Such meters are easily do-able by good speedometer vendors.
Best one is Kamran Speedometer on ground floor and Hafiz Jee meter repairing wala in Karachi Plaza market.

Kamran can do such lighting within 10 minutes
