you need to clean the IACS...open the sensor part and then spin its rotor...it shud move freely...if not then...open the air intake pipe and spray carb cleaner into hole going toward IACS...wait a while and then give it a spin...shud be better...used a syringe to inject a drop or two of ATF in rotor bearing to lubricate it...reinstall everything...

correct way is to unmount it from throttle body. clean the bearing inside out and outside in. until it moves freely. lube it slightly and good to go for 10000 kms atleast.

Recently I have Purchased a Xli 2008, 127k on ODO meter (GOD Knows well). After some days of running I have noticed a very little bluish smoke coming from exhaust on cold start. After 3,4 seconds it disappear and there is some Kr kr kr….sound from engine. Mechanic told me that this sound is of cam shaft but I didn’t believe him.
Can someone tell me the reason of smoke and sound?

a blue puff at cold start is sign of leaking valve seal(s).

a compression test can verify that.

Salam brothers. Hope you are doing good. Im experiencing a low mileage from my 2008 corolla. Might be somewhere between 8 to 9kmpl. Im going for its tune up very soon which will include the throttle body service and plugs change. Can you guys please guide which exact model and manufacture plugs should i install. I think the issue is of spark plugs coz last time the mechanic didnot installed the exact model plugs (this is what i think).
Please guide.

one thing more, im using 205/55/r16 on it. I know it will effect the consumption but still 8 to 9 is not acceptable. It can maximum effect by 1kmpl making a combine one to 11kmpl. I assume it can give me 12kmpl and owners claim it to be the same.

As i need to change the tires aswell, im thinking to install 195/55/r16. Also guide me about this aswell. I cannot move back to 15inch wheel as it will cost me more and i really really like bigger rims.

Back in 2018 it was 8500.all four door kabli machines and switches.they dont roll up fast as orignals but still batter then manuals.

If you people are having fuel consumption issues then along with tuning also get your MAF Sensor cleaned by removing it and using MAF Sensor cleaner to clean it properly. Most mechanics just clean the plugs and throttle body when you go for tuning. MAF Sensor cleaning made a big difference in my case.
