Hello,
I have 2003 corolla se saloon auto,it has overdrive button/option also.
My question is that,i have heared from someone that,in high millage engines like in my car,it is 142 on odo,if overdrive button or option is used on highways for long time,it will cause engine oil level reduction and also poor gas millage?
Is it true?
Plz experts give your precious knowledge about this matter...

Bro first of all 142ODO is not consider as high mileage for toyota cars. Few of our brothers are driving these car with 300k ODO with stock engine. Secondly, why do you want OD OFF on highways? Only you can use it for down shift to overtake or before applying brakes. and then turn on OD when gear is down or you have done overtaking.

BTW, whats the fuel mileage of your se saloon on highways and inside city.

Almost i am getting the same. On highways wih ac i get around 14,15. i drive mostly around 100km/h, and keep RPM near to 2000 or 2200.

I had another Corolla Gli 2010 with me which i was using after selling this. It was very good car indeed, but as i had used it quite much and some little issues had started to arise which were normal considering its age.

like what issues? how did you feel like driving 1.3 after 1.8? mileage kia thi ap ki gari ki ?

It started to consume oil 1 liter after 3000kms. Fuel consumption was 8-10km/l in local at max and on long 13-14km/l. Power difference was obvious as one was 130hp and other was mere 82hp. But gli also has been very reliable and economical for me, sold after driving 210,000kms. Now have grande and city for my daily driving.
