Hi. Getting benefit of lockdown and free time doing service work on 2D saloon 08 mod..detached and washed coolant reservoir bottle.. see color of coolant which is Toyota genuine long life coolant and done 2yrs after last flush of radiator.. done almost 35k since I changed coolant 2 years ago..appear in good condition.. ain was to have clean reservoir bottle so that in case of rust or gsket damage I can have idea by looking at it

In Pakistan we don't do preventive service..like replacement of brake fluid and steering fluid after these appear dirty or specific time of replacement is due. Is there any recommendations by expert about replacement of brake and steering fluid after certain time?

@nawan885 : Brake / Steering fluid replacement is not recommended until we get a call, this is what have been told /observed.

However, such fluids degrade over time:-

• Under normal driving conditions, it’s recommended that you flush your brake fluid every 30k - 45K or every two years to ensure optimal performance and prevent leaks.

• Power steering fluid should be replaced by time and car running, prior to it becoming brown or dark brown in color.

• Transmission fluid (Auto/Manual) should be flushed every 40K to 50K miles under normal driving conditions.

So great info... This is what mentioned in different car manuals. My car steering fluid is brown and it's 50k and 5years since last change..I think af6er lock down I should replace it... for steering fluid Toyota AT fluid dextran type is recommended

What should be the price for a good condition 2004 GLi Islamabad registration?
Car is 221k driven. And has many minor side touchings.
Also intake manifold is changed.
Is 9 lacs fine?
GLi has 2nzfe engine but the intake manifold says 1nzfe.

Karachi market will say 7.25 to 7.75, because if izloo.. 900k is the max ... It's a high rate i will say.

I will say disregard it, or if you have decided to go for it, then be ready for the surprises.

My car engine was misfiring or missing so i opened coils by myself and found that one of the coil is leaking spark from lower rubber, I covered it with nitto tape and the problem solved. But after 20mnt of drive it started again fron that point. Can anyone advice me any desi juggar which can be done at home. As no mechanic available in our area due to lockdown.

How do you know that car is misfiring??? And also how did you check the coil ? Kindly guide me

From the sound and engine will vibrate plus if the car is stationary and to move the engine will struggle and jerk to move car, unbolt all coils, start the car and take out coil one by one and touch coil body with any boly or head cover. If i gives spark from the lower hole then its fine if from body then its faulty

brake fluid & coolant has to be changed after some interval [ ( months ) or ( kilometers ) ] check from your vehicle user manual @autophile has manual and has shared relevant pages in many threads.

brake fluid flush, coolant flush and disc brake service videos are made by @Xulfiqar but due to a comedy movie producer mentally challenged comments for technical stuff, the sharing has been postponed.

For 9th gen I remember the recommendation for brake fluid, power steering fluid was one year or 45 thousand kms. I think I got these done twice. Transmission oil (manual) was also 45 kms if I can remember correctly and flushed coolant after 100,000 kms and just kept on topping up throughout the 10 years and 134,000 kms.

Stock coolant is recommended to be changed after 160,000 kms. There was a sticker near the radiator cap. No time period was mentioned.
