Toyota Cressida '92: Viable Engine Swap

So as the title suggests, I have recently acquired a '92 Cressida and I'm looking for a potential viable engine swap for this car. It is currently running a Toyota 3-S with auto transmission which is severely under-powered for a car this size.

I've tried to find a 1jz single turbo/non-turbo for a month in Isb/Rwp but no luck. Also, I've heard its relatively hard to find 1jz that is in decent condition at this moment. If anyone has any leads on the 1jz or any other viable swaps please let me know. Thanks !

Why are you not opting for a 2JZ? They're plentiful in Pak, esp in KHI and Peshawar.

I'm having trouble finding it from a trusted source since these engines are over 2 decades old. I will consider it though.

Yeah these engines are great but the ones in Pakistan are really old. Have you visited engine markets? They may have something similar. A toyota v6 will be ok in this car as well

Like a 4GR? I'd love to have to one but that would be stretching my budget real thin.

Another issue would be that they mostly come with auto. Try to search bro you may get something good. A 2gr would be so sick though . Someone bought a 6g74 for pretty cheap. You just need to do a lot of effort.

I see. I'll stick to an auto trans for daily drive. Although a manual is extremely tempting for us petrol heads. Found a mint 1jz-fse out of a mark 2 grande. I might pull the trigger.

How much is it costing you?

200k including labor, transmission, ECU, uncut wiring, dual cat converters. Plus extra for the fluids.

Thats very reasonable. Fse has better average as well. Check Its compression
