there's an add for a 94 toyota crown for sale
chassis model 73
body model 94
i've alwayz been interested in buying one such as dis...id prefer the original..but deyre not worth the money...anywaz...my question is wheter these cars are road legal or not....like how much trouble m i gonna get into if im caught driving one of these (seriously speaking:p)...cuz i heard they werent legal...but ive seen hundreds of them being driven around...sum wid even government plates on dem
soo...if any1 has info abt dis...id really appreciate it...thnx a lot

yes they are legal but m not sure of the model from when till where. i THINK it's 85/86 onwards. According to Spectra, Crown and Hiace have the same engines so many of them are swapped that way too. an uncle of mine was once interested . . . and so was i but the maintainance of Crown is like keeping camel as a pet

It not legal.Police knows the whole thing. Its worth if you change the crown of 86 onward to some 92 shape. But changing from 73 to 94 its totally different story.
Its useless and most of the people having these cars are interested to dispose them off.

that was a good car... do keep me informed when your friend wants to sell that car, pricing it according to the model and not the condition

body swap is okay.....
there is only one thing that should be checked......
that it has an NOC from custom office stating that the tax for the body has been paid and there is no objection.....
and there is no limit for modle or body year of manufacturing......
and 1995 was the last year in which crown came with seperate body and frame......

does any body know about any old crown I am intrested to buy one for one of my friend......
it can be any modle ...... and atleast chasis should be intact......

The prob is that oldie crown has smaller frame and to fit the new model body which is bigger you have to alter the frame by "CUT AND WELD" this is NOT allowed by the law and the car is impounded. 80s model or maybe little later body which is smaller can be fitted on it without cut and weld and is legal.

I have toyota crown 1981 model but uspy body 1990 ki lagi ha 2 dafa custom walon na pakra 2 saal sa gari ghar khari ha. Koi bhai solution bta skta k gari kidr sale ho sakti ya 1980 ki body kdr sa mly gi.
